WITH THE FLAMES IN HER EYES, SHE BURNED.
We left Morgan's home and with the six of us we went to an abandoned place. Ms Potts didn't join us, she had to get back to being CEO again. Morgan was cloaked with her own parody of the Iron Man suit she had also worn back in New York. Peter wore his Spider-Man suit and Harley decided to just walk around in his everyday clothes. You were still in your normal clothes, but this time you also had your shining shield on your arm.
'So, how does your magic work?' Wanda asked me, obviously needing the information to be able to help me.
'I have a Book of Spells,' I responded, holding the small leather bound book up. 'I wrote down spells I thought would be useful, every Witch has one of their own. I just have to think of the words, free my mind and connect with the aspect I'm trying to influence.'
Wanda sighed. 'All right, I don't have spells as my magic comes naturally to me, but let's try it. You ready to use magic?'
I nodded. I was always ready for magic.
'Let's just try something like levitating for now,' Wanda suggested.
The Sokovian held up her right hand. Red wisps left her fingertips and found their way to the abandoned blueish car in front of us. The red trail wrapped itself around the vehicle. She moved her hand more upwards. It was floating. I exhaled, then focused on the grey car close to us. I motioned my hand. Transparant wisps cloaked around the car. I tried to lift it, but it felt as if I was trying to lift the car with my bare hands. The wisps retracted in my hand.
'It's too heavy,' I simply stated, slowly beginning to think I shouldn't be using magic if I didn't make any progress anyway.
'Right,' Wanda responded while she put the car down. 'Why don't we start with something lighter? How about your book?'
I put my Book of Spells on the ground, hoping with all my heart I wouldn't accidentally destroy it. I took a few steps back. My breath was a little unsteady as my focus shifted from my breathing to my magic. I let my thoughts free. In myself I felt the rough structure of the pages from my book and the cold red leather. I moved my hand to the book. Transparant wisps left my fingertips, wrapped around the book and this time it actually floated in the air.
Wanda smiled. 'Well done! Did you do this with a spell?'
'No, actually,' I told her, but I knew I could do such a small spell without words because of my high potential. Probably also the reason why I couldn't lift the car. 'Does that still count as magic then?'
'I think so,' Wanda responded with a shrug.
'Does that mean the Witches now know where you are?' Harley yelled from the top of a container. He sat next to Morgan and Peter, all three of them eating the croissants we picked up along the way.
My eyes widened, completely forgetting that that was a factor, too. 'Shit, probably. We should leave this place.'
'Do you think we're able to overpower them?' you asked cleverly. I realised that you were really experienced with these kind of situations.
'No,' I almost immediately answered. 'Last time we were lucky we were in public. They want to draw as little attention to the Witches Community as possible, so they fled before it could escalate. This time they'll be even better prepared and won't be scared of hurting people.'
It was true. If someone would come up to a Witch or Wizard and for some stupid reason ask them about their magic or Community, they would always deny it. We weren't really a secret, so it wasn't punishable or anything like that if you would tell people that magic was real, but we just wanted to continue practicing our magic without interfering of the government and such, so it was an unspoken rule to never admit the existence of Witches and Wizards.
'Not even with Peter, Wanda and me extra?' you continued, still hoping we would have a chance of winning.
I shook my head slowly, exhaling shakily. 'No, they're with seven and the strongest in the Community. It's a little bit like being a non-magic person and fighting the original six Avengers on your own. It's plain suicide.'
'What are their weaknesses?' You didn't give up. I would usually look up to such stubbornness, but this was just wasting valuable time. 'Water? Salt? I don't know how those things work.'
'That's the thing about these Witches, they don't have weaknesses,' I explained as if I was talking to a five year old.
On my left stood Wanda, silently following our altercation. She had her arms crossed. On my right landed Morgan in her full Iron Man gear. The shiny blue colour suited her very well. Peter swung via a streetlight to us, landing beside you. The white string fell on the ground. Harley simply walked toward the five of us, still busy with eating his croissant. If the discussion wouldn't have been this serious, I would've probably laughed at the sight of him.
'Sorry, it looked pretty important, so we left our hide out,' Peter explained with a crooked smile.
Harley had finished his croissant. 'I've now decided that I need a jet pack in order to move cool, too.'
'We have to leave, now,' I told you with seriousness in my eyes.
You nodded, realising it was the only option that wouldn't hurt or maybe even kill us. We went toward the car, Peter, Harley and Morgan still confused since they still didn't really know what all the fuss was about. Yet, the moment Steve reached out for the black door handle to sit behind the wheel, the whole bloody car caught fire. All of us quickly ran away while the car exploded. Because of the impact we fell on the ground.
As I looked up I saw seven Witches.
All seven grinning like madmen.
