Warning: This chapter contains brief mention of suicide and self harm

Hoseok stirred, then froze. His head was pounding. He wondered briefly if someone was actually hitting his head with a hammer from the inside because it sure felt like it.

He couldn't move well, at all. But he was shaking.

He wanted to go home.

If only he could wake up right now and realize this was all a dream, maybe he was sick, maybe if he left his eyes closed this nightmarish form of hell would melt away and he would be back in his bed at home with Jin trying to feed him something.

"You're awake."

It was Y/N's voice that he heard, not Jin's.

He tried to nod in response, but the pain in his head was so great that instead his head simply fell over as the tiny man in his head swang his hammer with renewed vigor.

A groan escaped him.

Gentle hands righted his head for him and a spoon pressed against his lips.

"Eat. It'll help"

His eyes opened slightly and confirmed that she was indeed trying to feed him.

Opening his mouth, he accepted the small bite, then another.

He wanted to go home.

Five small bites were swallowed before he refused the spoon. "My stomach..." he began, and the bite went right back into the can.

"Can't have you throwing up." Y/N seemed gruff, but her touch was exceptionally soft as she arranged his limbs for him so that he was comfortable.

He finally opened his eyes the rest of the way and found that everyone was in a single, padded room. Honestly it reminded him of a room from a movie that a dangerous person would have been put in to keep them from harming themselves or others. He couldn't even see the door.

"Thank you."

Y/N shrugged one shoulder.

"To fill you in" she began calmly "You almost ran through some sort of portal. We don't know how or why they work, but the things that come through them are very unpl-"

The room shook.

One side lifted and fell down with a reverberating *CLANG*. Hoseok stiffened, trying not to fall over.

Y/N caught him.

"Very unpleasant." She finished grimly, and the assault began.

Faint, ominous howling made it through the padded walls, and the room... Or rather, the box that they were in was pounded erratically. Random corners, or entire sides of the room were lifted and dropped, until even Y/N's support wasn't enough, and they were sprawled across the floor.

Hoseok finally  moved, clamping his hands over his ears, desperately trying to block out the sound.

It didn't work.

If anything it was louder, and what had shown as nausea before proved to be fear stricken through him like a stake through the heart of a vampire.

Panic pulsed through him, they were in his head, shaded grey figures somehow smiling lipless smiles and reaching out to pull him in. Shadowy promises of peace thinly veiled the terrifying images of instruments, tables clearly rigged for painful restraint.

He swore he would never make fun of alien abductees again, begged to be released...

And then it was over.
