Striker's POV:
The walk was slow and filled with a awkward silence, for some reason whatever I did around the female it was mean when I don't mean to be.
Every move I made I end up hurting her slightly, when I look at her she looks away, every time I try to help her in just the slightest with climbing over obstacles she winches away from me before letting me hoist her up.
Now the sky was starting to change to a slight orange and the ground was flat as we were so close to the others.
We still haven't talked as we kept going, I got an idea as I looked to the human "so," I began as she glanced at me before looking away "what's your name?" I said as I walked a little closer to her.
I saw her tense a bit as she looked to me "Stephanie." she said as she looked to the ground, I stopped walking and she did the same while she still stared at the ground.
"Well, my names Striker." I said as I gave a small smile, she glanced at me for a bit before looking to the ground again, I sighed but something caught my attention that was on her chest.
I stood on my hind legs while I gripped her shoulder slightly, of course she winched but what was on her chest was a mark that I had seen in a old part of the temple when I was younger.
There was a description with it that read: "if the queen is to perish, the bearer of this mark is the next hier. no matter her kind, she is queen. but along with the mark she must have a mate and be claimed by her mate before she can earn her rightful title as queen with her mate being king."
But I didn't understand most of it when I was young, but now that I'm older I understand all of it, even though it is a little to mature for me now.
I slowly traced around it, the color of it turning a very light brown as she shivered, I stopped tracing as I let go of her shoulder and went back on all fours again.
Stephanie's face was slightly pink on the side as she looked another way, I sighed "well lets g-" I stopped talking as I heard rustling in the distance.
I sniffed at the air before pushing her back a bit, she looked at me as there was more louder rustling "Stephanie, get behind me and stay low, don't say anything at all, got it?" I said as I looked back at her as she kneeled behind me and nodded.
Stephanie's POV:
I didn't know what was going to happen so I scooted as close as I could to Striker's back, the whole area of bushes around us rustled before a whole horde of Xenomorph's jumped over the bushes.
All of them hissing and barring their fangs as they surrounded us, I almost screamed if it wasn't for the fact that I was hugging Striker for dear life.
"What is the meaning of this! Why is that human still living?" I shrunk closer to Striker as a bulky yet very slim looking Xenomorph stepped in front of Striker.
Striker's tail tightened around my waist as the Xenomorph stood in front of him "tell me, what is the meaning of all this." it hissed as Striker shrunk back a bit.
I could feel Striker tense as he did a bow "my queen, I went to the spaceship with a friend and killed the other humans besides this one," I glanced around as their was some hissing.
Now I took a chance to look at them better, the ones that somewhat looked like the one in front of Striker are the females since Striker called her queen and I guess the others that are somewhat like Striker are males.
I gripped at Striker as some of them hissed at me "but this human was different from the others, she has the mark that was in the old part of the temple." he said as his tail yanked slightly at me to move forward.
The queen looked at me and huffed "oh really, well I don't see it." she hissed as she made a move forward, Striker yanked again as I got the point.
Taking a deep breath I let go of Striker and sat back on my legs, I stared at my lap as a low chitter broke out among the others.
My chin was lifted as I was faced with the queen, my heart was racing as she looked to my mark, her lips curled back slightly before she let go and backed off.
"So it seems what you say is true." she said as the chitter became murmurs, Striker's tail hung loosely around my waist as he stayed slightly bowed.
The edges of the queen's mouth turned up slightly "but there is of course one thing," she said as she held my chin and got in my face "you need to find a mate." she sneered before letting go of my chin roughly.
I felt my face heat up at her words, I never wanted any of this, but if it wasn't for this legend I would have been already dead.
I felt Striker stiffen as his tail tightened around my waist again, then I remember what he said on the ship.
I could feel my face heat up more before I hugged Striker's side, I felt him jump slightly before he looked at me "finders keepers losers weepers." I said as I hugged him more tightly to get my point through.
The murmurs got louder as Striker looked between me and the queen who was barring her fangs slightly "hmph, so be it." she huffed as she turned away from me and started to walk away.
She stopped as she nodded to two males that had a weird design painted on their heads and shoulders "find these two a good enough cave for what is necessary." she said boredily before walking away through the crowd.
The others Xenomorph's followed the queen as the two guards walked up to me and Striker, I couldn't feel my legs, like my body wouldn't move let me move.
But I found that I was being lifted in the air by Striker with his tail before he put me on his back "just hold on." he said as I hugged around his neck and rested my head on his back before we were soon off.
