This christmas story is about a young, orphan girl named Sam Evanson. She lives in this town called Marywood with her foster family, Cleo Palmer and John Rollins, and her own daughter, Dina Evanson. She works at this antique shop with her best friend and colleague, Maya. One day they both travel to this deceased man's house, and Sam discovers an old mirror which seems really curious. Another day when she's examining the mirror, something happens. She gets dragged into this world where everything is different. All around her is just snow, trees and a winter wonderland. She also meets these small creatures called "nisse", who tells her that's she the one to fulfill a prophecy. After discussing by herself she finally agrees to get on this mission, which is to find the White Stone which belong to the King of Winter Wonderland. Without this there will not be any Christmas, and Sam is the chosen one that they have seen coming and the one to save Christmas. However, she will not be making this trip alone...
