The month of September comes and goes quicker than I can mark it off on a calendar and before I know it is the 6th of October. Leisurely I role onto my side and bury my head into Liam’s Egyptian blue pillowcase. It isn’t until I hear a clanging in the next room that I realise he isn’t lying next to me, but his side is still warm so he hasn’t been up long. I stretch my muscles, in a catlike motion, before sliding my feet out of the warm bed and placing them on the floor. Rubbing my eyes with my good hand I tiptoe across the floor and out of Liam’s room to see what the early bird is up too. “Morning.” I call to his back as he stands in the kitchen messing with something on the counter that is blocked from my view. All I can see is his bare back and the waistband of a pair of grey sweatpants, not the worst view to be honest.

“Back to bed!” He shouts before I can even step past the threshold of his bedroom, in my confusion I don’t move and sort of just come to a standstill. He glances over his shoulder and catches me standing their like a dummy. “Scar… get back in bed.” On autopilot I turn back around and slide back under the sheet almost on autopilot. I can feel my eyebrows pull together in confusion but before I can even start to think about it Liam walks through the door holding a tray. He climbs onto his side of the matters and places the tray between us presenting pancakes, fruit, pastries, coffee and orange juice.

“What’s all this?” I question with my mouth practically watering at the smell.

“Breakfast in bed.” He smirks.

“Yeah but why?”

“We became a couple in a… strange way. I don’t feel like we have a proper anniversary date. I don’t want it to be the day the competition ended and it can’t be the day of our first ‘date’ which was technically a one-on-one. So I elect that today be the anniversary of our first month together. September 6th is the day you moved in here and we have been together every day since. What do you think?” I can tell that he has been rehearsing this speech and there is even a hint of a blush on his face, that I don’t think many other people would be able to detect. After a short pause I tear off a chunk of fluffy pancake and pop it into my mouth.

“Happy anniversary Liam.” I can’t help but smile at the fool, he really can be quite adorable.

“Happy anniversary Scarlett.”

“Sooo much food.” I groan flopping back onto the mattress and spilling a drop of orange juice on the stark white bed sheet.

“You didn’t have to finish it all.” Liam points out helpfully, more relaxed now then he was before we ate.

“But it was so good, I didn’t want to waste any.” I practically pout. He lies down next to me propping himself up on his elbow and drawing patterns across my stomach with his fingertips. The action is repetitive and relaxing causing my eyes to flutter shut.

“Do you know what tonight is?” He asks out of the blue, my eyes shoot open. I think about it but I can’t remember there being anything scheduled into my Filofax, yes I have a Filofax courtesy of Penny, I shake my head in response. “It’s a full moon.” The realization causes goose bumps to crawl across my skin, shifters can change form whenever they want, we aren’t slaves of the moon, but we are somewhat drawn to the beauty of a full one. “I was thinking maybe we could go out and sit under it for a while, you once told me that under a full moon was your favourite place to be.” I’m shocked that he remembers that small piece of trivia I shared back on our very first one-on-one meeting.

“That would be nice, it can give you a chance to let your wolf out.” I prod gently, I had noticed that in the month we had been together he had very rarely shifted.
