Chapter 1 - I N T R O D U C T I O N

Joan's Point of View

"Oh my gosh, Joan!" Kelly said as she approaches me.

I was confused at first because she just came and she was super late. She just shouted at me like I did something that she doesn't like.

"Nakipagbalikan ka na naman dun kay Ken?!"  

"Uhm. Yes?" I hesitated.

"How many times do I have to tell you na he keeps hurting you kaya dapat kalimutan mo na siya?"

"Well, I believe that some people can change Kelly." I proudly said.

"And some?" Kelly quickly asked.

"Some people will not change and they will still hurt you Joan." Brett answered.

"Well, yeah! But everyone deserves a second chance." I said as a defense for my decision.

"Not everyone deserves a second chance Jo. Always remember that. They can take it as an advantage to hurt your heart." Victoria said as she serves us some meals.

"Kapag ikaw ay umiyak na naman dahil diyan kay Ken na yan, nako. 'Di na kita tutulungan ha?" banta ni Dave.

"Copy! And kapag sinaktan pa niya ako, well. Sorry not sorry, this will be the last chance." I replied.

"Nako Jo, I've heard that before." asar ni Brett sakin.

"Well, ngayon, tototohanin ko na. PROMISE! Kapag 'di ko nagawa, f.o. tayo." I promised.

And they agreed to it. They just don't want Ken because he already hurt my heart many times. I was just too blind to see it. I'm just not ready to move on from him.

Whenever I want to move on, he keeps coming back. So, maybe it's a sign that I should forgive him and give him another chance.

But you know, they just need to support me if I made any decisions, it's just like, they already took over my life because they are the ones who makes decisions in my life.

It's my life! I should be the one who makes decisions. I just can't let them go. We've been friends for more than a decade now. They are already my family since I was like 6 1/2 years old.

After eating, we talked for minutes, hours.

"Well, it's Brett's turn to pay the bills!" I announced.

 "Yeah! So here is the bill Brett." Victoria said as she give the bill to Brett. 

 We are currently eating at Victoria's restaurant, so we always have a discount. hehe 

 "Yeah yeah. I know. Can you please give mo some more discount please?" Brett asked and looked to Victoria with baby face. 

 Bagay naman pala kay Brett ang baby face eh. Rarely kasi siya mag ganyan and kay Victoria lang, siguro to please her kaya niya ginagawa yun. I know naman na Brett has feelings for her. It's obvious naman eh. 

"Stop it Brett!" Victoria shouted.

"Woah, woah, woah. Easy! Stop with what?" Brett asked.

 "Stop with the baby face Brett!" Victoria shouted while she was blushing. 

 "Sus, pakipot ka pa. Halatang kinikilig ka teh! Namumula ka oh, para kang kamatis diyan." asar ni Kelly.

 "Pleaseee??" Brett pleaded.

 "Okay. Fine. Pasalamat ka na lang talaga at cute ka pag nagba-baby face ka." Victoria answered.

 "So are you telling me na cute lang ako pag nagba-baby face ako?" Brett asked her. 

 "Parang ganun na nga." She whispered. 

 "Pardon. What did you said?" and Brett stood up while Victoria (who was beside him) stared at him and gulped.

 "Nothing. I said.. No. Cute ka palagi." Victoria said with a fake smile and it made Brett smile.

 "So that will be P3,500." Victoria changed the topic.

 "Okay." And Brett pulled out his wallet and paid the bill.

 "Thanks for the discount baby!" Brett said as he gave the money to Victoria. 

 They knew that Brett was just joking and we laughed. But I know, that Brett really meant that word because he is already in-love with Victoria. If they will be a couple. Ugh, they will be the most perfect couple in my life. Bagay kasi talaga sila.

 Victoria was moved by Brett's word. She can't handle Brett because her face turned red as if her face was full of red blush.

Well, I think I supposed to meet Ken here. He said he's on his way na. 

What's taking him so long? I'm already freezing to death here. And.. it's already getting late. Maybe malapit na siya.

*checks her phone* STILL NO REPLY?! where is he? It's already midnight. It's way past my bedtime. Maybe I should wait a little longer.

It's almost 2:50 in the midnight. What's taking him so LONGGGG? Maybe I should go home na. 

Someone suddenly came to me and covered my mouth.

"Miss. Holdap toh. Huwag kang maingay." 

"-Give me your bag." He added and left.

After I gave my bag because I was scared and can't move because of shock, I checked my phone. Luckily it was in my pocket. *notif* Finally, Ken replied.

"Hey Baby, I can't come tonight. Something came up. I'm so sorry." He texted.

"Maybe you should go home na. Next time na lang tayo aalis. Sorry." He said in the text.

"It's okay baby. I'm on my way naman na rin sa bahay." I replied.

He did not respond. He just seen-ed my text. Wala man lang bang 'Take care'? Joke. Haha. 

Now I need to walk home na with these killer heels. Ughh. Why does my life needs to be hirap ba?
