jaeden waited patiently with the rest of the guests for amalie to come home. he heard the garage door open and the crowd suddenly hushed. jaeden stepped forward to greet amalie at the door. the door opened and the party guests shouted "surprise!"
amalie gasped loudly and covered her mouth with her hands. "you guys!" jaeden gave his girlfriend a tight hug and a hushed "i love you lee." amalie's eyes filled with water as she looked at the people surrounding her. they were all of the people that mattered most to her in the world.
sevyn gestured for amalie to come towards her. when she did, sevyn stepped aside, revealing ryli and bambi. milly gasped loudly and rushed over to hug her best friends. the boys walked over to the group as well and they all enjoyed each other's presence for the last time for a while.

two hours later
the party was wrapping up and amalie's mom requested everyone to help clean up. jaeden snuck away into amalie's room where he had left her goodbye present. when he returned, everyone was still cleaning up. he pulled milly away from the kitchen and into the living room.
he kissed her softly before leading her to the couch. "i wanted to give you your present while everyone else was busy," he told her. he held the bag out and passed it to milly. she removed the tissue paper and picked up the biggest thing in the bag. "a lamp?" she questioned. "it's a friendship lamp," he explained, "when you turn it on, it turns on for me too. so i know you're there." amalie leaned in to hug him, "that's so sweet jae."
"there's something else," he told her, gesturing for her to continue. milly pulled out a small square box and gently opened it. inside was a charm bracelet which milly removed from the box's velvet lining. "it's beautiful," she breathed. she closely examined each charm.
"a purple shirt?" she asked him. "it's the shirt you were wearing in the post when you first replied to my comment," he told her. amalie's chest tightened, "oh my god jaeden martell. you're amazing. they're all like that aren't they?" jaeden scratched his head bashfully, "kinda." amalie continued.
"a lollipop?" "you were eating one in the post that you captioned with a pickup line i sent you. which was also the first day we texted, and the best day of my life."
"a planet?" "that has always been the emoji next to your contact."
"a beanie?" "because you always steal mine and wear them in your instagram posts to make you look edgier."
"and the ice skates?" "from my favorite date we've been on. the one where i visited you here and we went ice skating. then we went out for ice cream and can back here to watch movies. best night of my life."
"aww aren't they the cutest!" amalie's mother interrupted the couple's moment. the two turned and realized everyone had been watching their exchange. their faces turned bright red as they tried to laugh off their embarrassment. amalie's mom noticed milly's glare and ushered the crowd away. "i'm sorry honey, we'll let you two have your moment."
"oh my god," milly covered her face with her hands. jaeden gently removed her hand from her face and kissed her. "it's alright it was cute. but do you like the bracelet?" amalie hugged the boy tightly, "are you kidding me? i love it. and i love you even more."
