Chapter 9
Lily's POV
"Are you okay?" Bryce asks. He looks me up and down, staring at me like I'm some helpless case. I can't let him know how vulnerable I feel right now. Why won't he stop giving me this look? It's driving me insane. I want to break down and cry but he can't see me like that. I won't let him. I won't give him that satisfaction.
"Why did you do that?" I ask.
"I wanted to help." He responds.
"I didn't need your help." The words tumble out of my mouth before I can stop them.
"That douchebag put something in your drink. I saw him do it."
"Why were you watching me?" I ask. At this point I'm shouting. I can feel my cheeks getting hot. They must be bright red at this point. I doubt he can see that in the darkness.
"I was out on the balcony, I just noticed you below. It wasn't intentional. When I saw that something was wrong I stepped in." He says.
"I can handle myself. I'm not some damsel in distress." I shout. The tears in my eyes are threatening to spill. His facial expressions soften and I can visibly see that my words stung him.
"I-I'm sorry Lil, I was just trying to help. I promise." He stutters, looking down at his feet.
"Don't call me that." I mumble. Who does he think he is? We aren't close. I can't handle this. I can't deal with him right now. I try to stand up to get away from him but I tumble back onto the ground. I grab onto a tree and pull myself up.
My head is spinning and my vision is cloudy. I can't think straight. I start to walk off before everything goes dark.

Luke's POV
I wake up the morning after the party with a pounding headache and an overcoming feeling of nausea. Shit. I stumble into my bathroom, barely making it to the toilet in time before I puke my guts out. Lovely, I know.
Ten minutes and twelve swishes of mouthwash later, I attempt to run my fingers through my hair but they get stuck. There's a sure sign that I need a shower.
I turn the knob all the way to the right, as hot as it gets. I pull my shirt over my head and hop in the shower.
Damn it I did it again. I say looking down at my boxers. I always forget to take these things off before getting in the shower. Such a pain. I step out of the shower and get undressed.
Minutes later the bathroom door bursts open. Oh hell no. Getting murdered while I'm showering is my biggest fear. Well, right behind Cheerios and lampshades. But getting killed while I'm naked is definitely high up on my list of fears.
I open the shower curtain to see what's going on. There is a girl wearing one of my East High baseball t-shirts sitting on my bathroom leaning over the toilet. She's got long blonde hair that's pulled back into a loose ponytail behind her head. Poor girl.
A wave of confusion suddenly hits me like a confused bird hits a sliding glass door. Wait? Poor girl? Who the hell is this girl?
"Sorry." The mystery blonde mumbles, she wipes the corners of her mouth and looks up at me. Suddenly her eyes widen and she looks back down at the floor covering her eyes.
"Oh my god! I didn't mean to- uh I didn't think you'd be naked! I- um I'm sorry. I didn't think that through. I'm sorry." She says, the words tumbling out of her mouth. She talks faster than my brain can process her words.
