a little red light near the window catches my eye, so i decide to inspect it. would it be what i think it is?

quietly, i come nearer and nearer to the light when suddenly, it flicks off, and i lost where it was positioned.

"crap" i swear out loud.

"ella! here you are! whats wrong with you?! why did you lock all the windows and turn the lights on?"

phone in hand, i say, "look, lucy, this may sound really confusing to you but..."

my phone vibrates and i look down.

"tell her and you've lost her(forever. you know what i mean by that, right?)"

fuck. fuck. fuck fuck fuck. im so scared. how the hell does this weird person know what im saying, doing and wearing right now? the little light must have been a camera...its not there now though, so what could have happened to it? how does this human now what im up to right now? i am petrified. theres no words to describe how i feel. the only person i actually trust, and im not allowed to tell her because if i do, i might kill her. kill my bestfriend just because of a pathetic person and a pathetic reason; i cant tell her my biggest secret or else she dies. what has my life come to...

"but what, ella?" lucy asks.

"but im scared of darkness...." i smile faintly, shrugging.

"since when are you scared of darkness? you loved haunted houses, dont you remember?" lucy says, completely confused.

"uh, well, jake told me about something that happened to him once and uh, yeah, im scared since then.." i try covering it up, because not even i know what im saying.

"whatever" lucy says, shrugging, letting out a faint laugh.

i laugh along with her and she bursts into another fit of giggles, falling to the floor. i slide down with her, and now things finally feel normal . but then again, do i know what normal is anymore?
