I wake up at my Auntie Cara's house, and I don't know why. I look around for my mommy and daddy, but I can't find them. I only see my auntie.
"Auntie, where did Mommy and Daddy go? Why am I here?"
"They won't be back for a while sweetie. You and Austin will be staying here for now," she says.
I start to cry.
"Don't they love me anymore?"
"Of course they love you, honey! They just have to go away for a while," she says.
I look around for my teddy bear, but then I remember. I'm not at home. I'm with Auntie and I don't know why.
"I want my teddy bear!"
Auntie hands me my backpack and my green polka-dot suite case.
"All of your things are in there sweetie. Go unpack in your room."
My room. That means that I will be staying here for a long time.
Austin walks out of his room. I stop crying.
"Lil? What's going on?"
I say: "Mommy and Daddy left us with Auntie Cara and they aren't commin' back."
"What? Why?"
Austin looks upset. I don't blame him. I'm mad too.
"Ask Auntie" I say.
He does. She whispered something in his ear. Then he leaves the room, looking really mad.
"Don't tell your sister!" She calls after him.
