KALEB'S POV
School sucks ass. Lucky me it's the last day. The teachers usually let us do whatever on the last day. Apparently they decided to put us all through hell this time. We had to connect with someone on the last day of school. They're only doing this so some kids won't be alone this summer. It's dumb and some people are going on vacation. I got out of it by saying I didn't feel well. Teachers are so gullible. I already have people to hang out with. I am one of the school's most popular football players. At the same time i'm alone on the inside. I lay down on the bed in the nurse's office and close my eyes. My mind soon fades to nothingness.>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
CARTER'S POV
I am not very happy to learn that at the school they're getting to know eachother better for the summer. I am stuck at home unpacking. I will most likely have no friends the first week here. How sad. I'm almost finished with my room. Hopefully my family will be done unpacking everything else when I finish because I don't want to help. I just need sleep. It's peaceful. I lay down on my bed. My music silently playing in the background. I close my eyes. A short nap never hurt anyone.<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
KALEB'S POV
I jolt awake by the sound of the bell. I thought they turned those off for the day. I look at the clock and my eyes go wide. Jesus I must've been extremely tired because I slept through the entire school day. The nurse smiles and waves as I leave. My stomach growls. I need food. I sigh in relief when I see my best friend Miles waiting by my car for me. He's like the only one who knows i'm gay. He has two dads so he had no problem accepting me. I smile at him."Dude how come you weren't anywhere to be seen all day?", he asked with a worried expression.
"I slept the whole school day in the nurse's office," I say looking down."Dude you need to stop staying up so late," he scolded.
"Yeah, whatever let's go get food," I say brushing him off.
He rolls his eyes, but still gets into my car. I drive us to McDonalds. I order for the both of us because I know his order by heart. We eat and talk about how he had to partner up with this girl with ginger hair who was really hyper. In his words crazy. He spent basically the entire day with her and his dumbass doesn't remember her name. I drive him home and he finally gets out after I promise him not to stay up past 11.
When I get home I see a moving van parked in the neighbors yard. Looks like someone finally moved in. I walk in my house and immediately run upstairs. I open my window and freeze when I see the other window open. I see a boy sleeping in the room across from mine. He looked perfect. The sunlight hit him and his face scrunched up and he turned to lay on his stomach. Without realizing it I was leaning forward slowly. He was mesmerizing. I accidentally knocked something down causing a large and loud bang. The boy jolted awake startled and fell off the bed. I ducked down quickly hoping that he wouldn't notice me. What a great first impression I had made. I crawled to my door thankful that I had left it open. I'll just pretend to walk in and be shocked.

CARTER'S POV
Apparently a little nap would hurt someone. That someone was me. My head is throbbing. I'm pretty sure any noise was just going to make my head explode. I think I heard someone gasp."Hey are you alright?", a voice asked.
I look up and realize that the noise is coming from my window. I slowly get up, holding my head, to look out the window. I see a very handsome boy that looks extremely worried and embarrassed.
"I-i'm fine," I stutter out. My cheeks heat up and I look down. I look up and make eye contact with the boy. We just stood there looking into each other's eyes. He had beautiful eyes. They looked bluish greenish. Our moment was ruined by the ringtone of my phone. I blush looking down. I take my phone out of my pocket and answer it.
(Carter) (Random person)
"Hello?"
"Where are you?"
"What? I'm sorry who is this?"
"Tyler don't act dumb, you know we had plans to meet at the ice cream shop and you're not here!"
"I'm sorry, but my name's Carter and I think you have the wrong number."
"Oh crap, well I am so sorry. My names Lily and I decided to type in my friends number instead of clicking it."
"Oh that's okay for all we know you could live across the world."
"Nah I live in this small town in California. It has this really cute ice cream shop by the beach. Have you heard of it?
"I live there to! I passed by it when we were driving here. I just moved to town."
"Yay! Now we could totally meet up sometime. Now you have friends for the summer Carter. Save this number so we could meet up sometime."
"Will do!"
Beep
That was weird. I look up to see that handsome boy is gone. How rude of me. I just ignored him. I must seem like a jerk. To avoid further embarrassment I close my window and curtains. I'm a dickhead. My mom calls me downstairs for something. I walk down expecting for her to ask for help with something. Instead I freeze in my tracks when I see a family standing at the door. In that family is handsome boy.
