ch1: the show

(late January 1987)

-devon's pov

My parents are gone on some sort of "lovers vacay" . For some reason they trust me alone. Don't know why, but I guess I've somehow earned their trust. I've always kept to myself, so me being alone wasn't that big of a deal. My birthday was last week (turned 18 so yay) so for my birthday, my mom had gotten me and my best friend mötley crüe tickets (I'm pretty sure my father didn't know because he hated mötley crüe. He thought that they were "spawns of the Devil") . My best friend of 3 years, Lucy, loved the band. She's the one that got me into them. Her favorite was always vince neil. To me, their music was great, but besides mick, the rest kinda seemed like douchebags. Talented, but douchebags.

Anyways, I was still hella excited. My parents had already left like a day earlier to god knows where. It's the night of the concert. Lucy came over in red fishnets, black booty shorts, along with her teased up hair, red lipstick, and tall ass black heals. Lucy never dressed "slutty" so when I saw her I sorta just laughed and scoffed, knowing she was dressed to impress. After digging through my closet, I just decided to go along with the teased hair look, my a tucked in grey shirt with my black jean shorts. I finish my heavy black eye makeup and black lipstick, then slip on my black boots.

"Hurry up dev!" I hear Lucy yell from the kitchen. I run out of my room, with my car keys in hand. I see Lucy eye me up and down "Damn girl!" "Oh shut up" I say as I laugh. Lucy runs out to my car and jumps into the passengers seat. I do the same and get into the divers seat. I then start driving down to the stadium, which was about 30 minutes away. Lucy turns up the "Hair Band" station on the radio, since Shout At The Devil was playing. As I'm driving, Lucy is ranting about her ex or something, I don't really know man I was just tuning out.

We arrived and me and Lucy get out of the car. We were in the line to show the dude our tickets for at least 15 minutes. Finally, after showing him, we walk in and find our places in the pit. I still can't believe my mother was able to find pit tickets. Few more minutes of waiting for the thousands of people to enter the stadium, the lights cut out-the show starts- and I'm in a pit filled with people, girls mostly, screaming. Lucy being one of them. I don't know why, but for some reason Nikki had full on caught my attention. We were on the side that nikki was playing on, so I guess it would've been easier to notice him. One of the moments that completely caught me on was during Too Young to Fall in Love, when sweaty Nikki licked gin off of one of the girls fingers that was in the front row, and god fucking damn it was hot. Just him in general equaled hot.

(time skip)

After the show, when me and Lucy were walking back to my car, 2 clearly intoxicated girls came up to us. They were at the show as well so I guess they saw us. They started talking about some shit like "oh y'all don't know anything about mötley crüe" etc etc. "Listen, we are just trying to get home" Lucy said nervously. You could hear the shakiness in her voice. I, being "the tough one" just rolled my eyes. "Hey fuck off will y'all? They don't know who yalls trashy asses are anyways so no need t-" I was cut off by one of the girls fucking punching me. I hold my bloody nose for a second before punching the girl back 10x harder. The other girl looks at her friend on the ground, screaming "Fucking street rats! Burn in hell!" They ran off. "Already there!" I scream back muffled. I guess during this time Lucy had paged her mom or something because Lucy's mother had pulled up. Lucy just jumped into her mothers car, offering to take me home. This was the one time my mother had trusted me alone, and I knew her mom would've called mine and it would've been a whole thing. After finally convincing her I'm alright, they leave. I walk to my car and attempt to start it. I try about 3 times to start the old thing. Nothing. Just perfect, now I don't have a car. I start walking to the nearest diner..
