Jocelyn looked at Miles and discreetly gulped. As much as she suspected he might be a virgin, she was shocked to find out he was, and she wasn't sure how to respond.
"Say something," Miles quietly said after a long period of silence. He released his hands from behind her and stepped back, raking his fingers through his hair. Feeling embarrassed, he had waited so long to say something to her.
"Miles," she paused, thinking of the right thing to say without hurting him. "I don't know what to say. A part of me wants to say come home with me. So I can help change that status. Then there's another part of me saying I need to hop in my car and take off. But as I stand here looking at you, I'm telling myself that it would be extremely rude of me to do either one... I'm at a loss for words."
He walked around her car, opened the door, and waved his hand, showing her to get in. After she sat in the driver's seat, he rested his hands on the roof of her car and leaned his head inside. "I appreciate you deciding not to do either one, so, thank you."
"You're welcome," she said quietly, then looked away from him and looked out her windshield. "I don't understand how you can be thanking me after what I've done to you."
"Why? You didn't do anything wrong," he side smiled. "It's not like we were official or anything. Besides, I knew it would happen. It's my luck when I find myself a hot looking chic. Anyway, I may be a virgin and have been saving myself for the right woman in that department, but one thing is for sure-"
"What's that?" she asked, looking back his way, expecting him to snap at her and thought she wouldn't blame him if he did.
His face lit up like a light bulb, and he smiled. "I sure liked eating that pussy of yours; it gave me satisfaction knowing you were happy and satisfied." He reached for her chin and leaned forward, pressing his lips softly to hers. "I'm not going to dwell on you not choosing me. I had fun with the times we spent together, and what I will say is, I wish you well, and I hope you'll find who and what you're looking for."
"Thanks, Miles," she breathed in relief. "I hope you find the one for you, too. You're a good man, and you deserve that special woman in your life."
"Have a good night." He shut her door, patted the roof of her car, and stepped back with a smile. Watching her drive away, he waved. He may not have gotten the girl, but he felt happy to have at least one last night with her.
Instead of going home, she went back to the office to finish the paperwork she had been working on before leaving to meet Miles. Since it was after eight at night, she didn't think anyone would be in the office, and she felt it would be the perfect time to get the rest of her work finished. After exiting onto the tenth floor and turning around the corner, she was surprised to see lights peeking between the flooring and the bottom part of the door.
She didn't see or hear anyone as she opened the door and figured whoever left last forgot to lock the door and shut off the lights. She shrugged it off and proceeded to walk towards her office until she noticed a light on in the conference room; she slowly walked over to the room to see who was inside, expecting to bust Alex in the room, boinking a client. Instead, she saw a couple of men talking to each other, looking serious while swapping papers and files back and forth to one another, recognizing one of them—an older gentleman named Finn, and the owner of the law firm. But what caught her eye was the other man Finn was in deep discussion with. A younger, good looking, well dressed, and dark-haired man. Who seemed to be in his late twenties or early thirties. He's a God. She whispered underneath her breath as she stared at him.
While eyeing the man she thought was a gorgeous God, curious as to who he was, he turned his head and looked her way. She was lost in his dreamy good looks and didn't notice him eyeing her. When she finally came around and saw him looking at her, her eyes widened, and she felt her heart stop. Unsure of how long he was looking at her, she felt embarrassed and walked quickly to her office, fumbling with her keys as she tried unlocking the door. She finally got the key to turn and quickly stepped inside, locking the door behind her.
