~Drizzling brings a sweet hope to this cracked earth~
“Blink. Blink. Blink."
Sora was making a sketch on a wedding hall decoration on her computer when her phone indicated that she received a message. A small smile spread across her face when she saw the message.
Jinyoung - “Minjae baked cupcakes today. He wants to share it with you”
Sora looked at the picture of the small cupcakes. Those looked little burnt yet beautiful. It had been a week since last Saturday. Minjae and Jinyoung crossed her mind several times in the past week and there were a thousand times she debated with her mind to drop at their place. So that she could check on Minjae. Every time she convinced herself that she is just being weird. But when she received the small invitation she didn't want to hold herself back anymore.
She wanted to see them, yes, both of them. She felt attached to Minjae but she would be lying if she says that Jinyoung never crossed her mind. Especially the part where he suddenly invaded her personal space just to stroke her hair. The closeness they shared and the moment kept replying in her mind.
Sora – “Looks yummy... Keep my share, I'm on the way. ^_^”
Sora put an extra effort to chose her clothing than any other day. Her hands were sweaty from nervousness as she rang the bell. 'There's nothing to be nervous, it's just cupcakes Sora' she said to the umpteenth time to herself.
“Sora-sshi, please come in” Jinyoung opened the door smiling ear to ear.
This time Sora quickly took a closer look at the man. He had black silky hair naturally parted from one side and his eyes had a shining look as he was holding tears always.
“Aunty...” Minjae came running and hugged Sora as she stepped inside the apartment.
“Minjae-ah, did you make cupcakes?” Sora lifted him up.
“Papa said we should make cupcakes so that we can ask you to come.” Minjae said while wrapping his hands around Sora's neck.
“eehh... haha... Minaje totally wanted to invite you.. eheheh...” Jinyoung protested and his cheeks turned into a light pink as he was caught red hand, doing something he wasn't supposed to do.
“mmm... so it was only Minjae, I'm disappointed” Sora teased him more.
Jinyoung ignored her teasing and took Minjae from her hands.
“Come... Let's give aunty a cupcake Minjae-ah” Jinyoung headed to the kitchen quickly. Sora followed them and unknown to her she was grinning like a Cheshire cat.The rest of the evening was spent with lots of laughs, teasing, watching cartoons and ultimately having a sleeping child on the couch in between the two awkwardly silent adults. They sat on the couch with their eyes glued to the tv screen. Sora felt that watching Simba courting Nala on the screen didn't help to ease the awkwardness between them.
“It's getting late... I better go now..” When Sora stood up from the couch both of them looked relieved.
“Ohh... Shall I drop you Sora-sshi?” words were out of Jinyoung's mouth even before he thinks and Sora looked at him with a confused look.
“No I mean, since it's little late...” Jinyoung stuttered.
“No, it's alright. It's only 7. I can grab a cab” Sora said with a soft chuckle.
“Anyway you can't leave Minjae alone either” she added.
“Oh... yeah..hehe...” Jinyoung let out an awkward laugh.
“Goodnight, tell Minjae I said bye,” Sora said while walking out the door. Jinyoung followed her to the door
“Goodnight Sora-sshi, I will”. For a moment both were standing without uttering a word and kept looking at each other.
