BNHA Soulmate AU

Author's Note (Read for more details!!)

Alrighty! I've had this idea for a while now, and I finally decided to write it, just cause I want to. Anyway, I suggest that you read this A/N (yeah, sorry, I know it's boring) cause it's gonna explain basically what this AU is. For starters, I wanna say that A: yes, it is based off the classic red string soulmate AU, but B: I have no clue how close it is to the original thing, so I'm gonna explain it anyway. But, I guess creds to the original creator of the red string AU? Although it's been done so many times I've got no clue who/what started it lol

Okay, time to get down to business. So, basically, in this AU, whenever you have your first moment (i.e. a deep conversation, a kiss, something of the sort) with your soulmate, a red string appears on both of your hands connecting you together. In order to help the kids possibly find their soulmate, UA hosts a "Soulmate Dance" every year for each of the grades. So, basically, the students have three chances to see if their soulmate is among them at UA. (Fun fact I just came up with while writing this, Aizawa and Present Mic realized they were soulmates during their third year at UA during their Soulmate Dance. Cute, right?)

Other details, about the string and such: when the string appears, it is usually wrapped around the ring finger of each of the two soulmates. Also, it is on opposite hands for each of them (i.e. if it's attached to Aizawa's left hand ring finger, it'd be on Mic's right hand ring finger). The only two people who can see your soulmate string are you and your soulmate. It is invisible to everyone else. Even though you can see it, however, the only part of you that can touch it is the part of your ring finger it is wrapped around. Even then, you don't really feel it there. If you try to touch it or walk through it or whatever, you'll basically just phase through it like you're a ghost or something. Finally, the sting can snap, but that rarely happens. The only situation in which it will snap is if the relationship between the two soulmates is toxic or if one of them cheated on the other. Don't fear, though, all of the ships mentioned in these stories will stay together and get married in the future.

Again, I have no clue how close that is to the original AU, but no matter what, I hope it helped you understand what I'm shooting for in these stories a little better.
