I stare out across the mountains taking in the rising of the golden sun. The atmosphere was already warm and damp. The puddles next to the obstacles shimmer like diamonds in the early morning light. As I race through the puddles they ricoshade off the wheels straight up my back, making me shiver.
The quietness of the track fills my legs with energy, everyone is still asleep. I came out early, before the heat became too much. I start to hear people and bikes as I near the end of my track.
'Damn it I came out too late,' I think, hearing the voices come closer.
