Life is not about who once you were, it's about who you are right now. Just because your pain is justified, doesn't mean your behaviour is acceptable.

Ajith is a man of impeccable character,  integrity and sincerity. He always thinks about others before his own welfare.

Holding his NTRITYA KALAIVANI award in his hand,  his head hung too low even to touch the prestigious award which is given to the world's best Bharatha Natyam dancer. Will he be able to wash away the sin he has committed?
Will he be able to say that he is impeccable with no flaws in him?
Will he be ever able to look at his wife's eyes whom he tried to abuse.

One-shot

Ajith strode inside his room with not so stable walks.

"What did you just say? Effeminate? Androgynous? Should i show you what i am capable of?"Ajith asked wiping his mouth which is reeking out of alcohol. Shalini was looking horrified with the scene.  She has never seen Ajith lose his control ever. She is been married to him for 1 whole month.  And all she did is to taunt him and tease him for walking like a girl.  She is highly disappointed with her parents who made her marry him without even letting her meet him in person.

"Listen Ajith,  you are drunk" she spoke pushing him hard when he stumbled back. But soon he clutched her hands hardly making her turn to him swiftly.

She was wriggling in his arms to get freed. Silver screen covered his orbs soon which dropped down his cheeks. He didn't beg her to marry him. It's her mom who wished to get him as her son in law. He wiped his tears with his forefinger and looked back to his wife whose shoulders turned dark red showing his anger. Anger towards the society he is facing till now. Anger towards everyone who is teasing him day and night for his girly catwalk. Anger to show them all that he is a man, not a girl.

He bends down inching closer to her and left her abruptly.

"If this is what a man does? I am proud to be called as a gay" even in the drunken state, he couldn't do anything reprehensible.

Shalini closed her face crying out hardly. She knew she did a grave mistake by insulting him in front of thousands of people. Due to which, his mom died out of a heart attack. She killed his mom and this man here, couldn't even punish her. She is ashamed of herself.

Ajith waved his hip and walked back to his room with the same style for which the whole world always taunt him. Ajith always wished to change himself. But today he felt very proud to walk that way. He decided one thing that it's the society who needs to change, not him.

He woke up and saw how much he cried last night. Splashing the tear with his forefinger tip, he pouted his lips downwards recalling his acts. He felt so low even to step out of his room to face his wife. Even though he didn't do anything prohibited, he found it as a forbidden act even to think like that.

"Ajith, this is not your fault," Shalini spoke gaining her leftover courage surprising Ajith. He blinked to see whether she is speaking with him or not. She has never talked with him in these 1 month time.

"Every woman would want to marry a manly man, not a man who would probably look hotter than her in walking" she voiced out in her shaky voice.

"I am sorry that I am one of those people" Shalini broke into tears. She doesn't really know how to apologize. But Ajith admired his wife that how she made an effort for the first time to console him. He slowly strode towards her which caught her attention again with its wavy ramp walk. This time, her eyes didn't shrink due to ignominy.

He slowly takes the ointment from the drawer and started applying in her hand where he hurt her the day before.

"I don't care what people think of me" Ajith replied when he felt her gaze towards him for so long expecting him to answer back.

"I am really sorry for my yesterday's stunt. I didn't mean to hurt you in any way" His tears rolled down of remorse.

"There’s nothing wrong with being gay, of course; but it can be a burden to be called gay when you are actually straight and nobody believes you." His single line reply has much intense that how much he is been harassed by everyone. Shalini, though can't love him, she decided to be his side and help him heal.

Ajith sighed in relief and looked up to his mom's photo frame with unknown expressions.

"If I have given a chance to be gay or straight, I would prefer to be happy now" He conveyed his feeling to his mom where he could see her smiling. The anger which he showed the day before, surely implies how much he hated himself for the way he existed. But now, he won't do that mistake. He is proud of himself and won't ever feel the way the society wants him to feel.
