In and out, I drift between the aching reality and my blissful daydream.
I'm somewhere loud but quiet at the same time. There is a constant rumbling in the near distance. Suddenly the word "waves" appears in my mind and then it becomes slightly visible. A clear blue body, blanketing the sand. It had to be the most humbling sight ever. My skin is growing warmer. I look up through the thick blur created by my imagination to find what I make out to be the sun. It's perfectly setting. It's that yellow/ orange ombré ... Like on all the postcards.
I'm not alone either, Someone is right next to me. I randomly become nerves. This person must be important because this rarely happens to me. Just my luck, this stupid thickness is growing thicker leaving less of a clear space to see. It went from fancy postcard to cheesy Instagram post. My initial reaction it to wave my hands in front of my face to clear some seeing space but, it's taking forever for them to get there. it's like they are weighed down. I began to think to myself what a waist of time this was, so I just try to turn my head and look.
All I can get a glimpse of is the chiseled
Features of a young man, before the thickness completely conceals the daydream and turns into the bright lights of a hospital room.
