Chapter Sixteen: Jughead and Archie

An//: two things, this first bit of the chapter Italics will remain the same for the next four chapters, and doesn't need to be reread with each upcoming chapter. Also, a large surprise will be revealed and sadly its hard to tell the timeline in the show, if its a few days or a couple weeks in between events so please don't hate on me for rushing things. I love you guys and am so glad you are still enjoying this book.

What you are about to read are four twisted tales connected to the tragic and macabre events the befell the town of Riverdale.

Known as the "Black Hood murders," they were all the more tragic because those who bore witness to these terrible things were so young.

A seemingly random shooting quickly revealed itself  to be the first in a series of gruesome attacks perpetrated by a hooded assailant.

These latest chapters began with the discovery of a letter from the Black Hood affixed to the door of Pop Tate's Chock'lit Shoppe.

"People of Riverdale, I have rid this town of the drug-dealing child-killer and others like him. Now, you must choose your fate. The next 48 hours will be a test. and I will be watching you very closely. Show me you are pure of heart, and my work ends. Continue to sin, And I will take up the sword again."

Kathleen POV///

I'm laying in bed with Sweet Pea holding me tight. I'm wearing a black bralette and a pair of short cotton shorts.
"She lead him right to him, like a pig to slaughter..." I sigh.
"Kat, You don't need to feel upset for the loss of Phillips by any means. He is what gave the Southside a bad name." Sweet Pea tucks a stray piece of hair behind my ear.
"I know Sweets, but with him gone... I fear what lies next for the southside." He rests his forehead against mine.
"You worry too much Kat. Please, just let us have a moment that is just us. Leave everything else outside." I smile softly,
"I'll Try Sweets." He kisses me softly. Suddenly my phone rings
"Dammit" He mumbles.  I roll over grabbing my phone off the bedside table.

"Go for Quinn?"
"I'm going to kill you!" I hear an angry voice come across the line "Making a deal with Keller, what is wrong with you?"
"FP... It wasn't me, Jughead told Archie he's the one who called Keller. Jughead and I were left none the wiser. Wait? How did you find out?" I ask surprised.
"The Ghoulies in here already know, did a damn good number on me in the showers. I'm calling from the infirmary."
"What?" I look at Sweet Pea who looks concerned "Are you okay?"
"Yeah kid, I'll be fine. Just don't let him do anything stupid if he finds out."
"Like the charmer? FP, if she knows..."
"I know Quinn, that's why I'm asking you to make sure he doesn't do anything stupid."
"FP, Jughead doesn't listen to me anymore, he's got Betty for that now. I'm sorry FP, but if she calls I wont be able to help him..."
"I was afraid you'd say that... Just keep him alive until I get back."
"I'll try..."
"Gotta go Kid." Click.

I don't turn to look at Sweet Pea, I sit there holding the phone in my hand staring at the now black screen.
"Kat?" I can feel Sweet Pea move in the bed, his legs spread so I am sitting in between them. His arms wrap around my torso pulling me into him. "Kat, what happened?"
"FP...they...They could've killed him..."I force out, not able to form complete sentences.
"Who could have?" Sweet Pea remains talking softly as if I was a scared animal.
"The Ghoulies in the pin, they heard about the race. Found out their higher ups were arrested...they attacked him." Sweet Pea goes silent for a few seconds just holding me tight. I could tell he was trying to ground himself in me as I was trying to with him.

"Sweets...I love you." I sigh finally relaxing slightly in his arms "We can take whatever comes next, as long as we are together."
"I love you too, and I agree." He kisses my bare shoulder.
