[Third POV]

That was 10 in a half years ago.

Taehyung, now in highschool, is taller, smarter, and better. Well... almost. Taehyung is actually a pretty quiet kid. He does still get picked on every now and then, but now he's considered a 'loner'.

The boy Taehyung knew as Hoseok disappeared three months after their first meet. During those three months, the boys grew close. Practically the whole town knew they were inseparable within days of getting to know each other. Out of the blue, when he did disappear he left no note, reasoning or anything. Taehyung was heartbroken. He was worried as hell and had even convinced his mom to report the absence. After that he realized it was odd he never met Hoseok's parents and that on the couple occasions Hoseok's parents came into play of any situation, he would smile and goof off like the person he was, so the idea was always brushed off.

They would head out to the beach almost everyday. They liked watching the sunrise together, so oftentimes the two boys would wake up at ridiculous hours in the morning to ride their bikes to a spot under the pier.

Hoseok had said once: "I like the sunrises better than sunsets. Sunrises always start the day with light, and are a symbol of new beginnings."

That always stuck with Taehyung. Although he had always favored sunsets, he had grown an endearing love for sunrises after Hoseok came into his life.

Taehyung was stuck in routine. The 'go to school, study, get good grades, go home, go to sleep, wake up and do it all over again' cycle was a structure of his life at this time. The only part Taehyung loved more than anything else was the beach. Whenever he could he would bike down to the beach and walk in the shores, float or swim in the high waves, search the tidepools, and went to go beach coming. He always wanted to try to learn to surf, but he knew it was an intense sport for him to learn.

He really did miss Hoseok, whenever he felt down, weak, or in despair, thinking of Hoseok and the time they spent together would always brighten his day, raise his attitude, and make him smile.

"Taehyung?"

Like right now. Some kids were snickering and had been throwing small things at the back of Taehyung's head such as erasers, balled up papers, etc.

"Taehyung..."

Taehyung felt really alone today, so he was currently thinking of Hoseok.

"Kim Taehyung! I'm speaking to you." The teacher yelled, snapping Taehyung out of his trance of memory.

"O-oh-uh.. sorry."

"Maybe instead of daydreaming your life away you focus on the assignment given to you."

Taehyung was silent, looking guilty as ever as all eyes of the class were on him. He felt as if he was going to explode.

There was a short silence pause of eyes on Taehyung, then the teacher resumed her lesson.

Taehyung sat back in his chair and let out a breath he didn't know he was holding, and gazed out the long horizontal window on the left side of the classroom wall.

It was overcast and grey indicating it was probably going to rain soon, but Taehyung liked this weather. Whenever it rained he liked to watch the way the raindrops fell into the ocean.

Soon the bell rang for the last period of the day, so instead of going home Taehyung headed over to a café by the shore. He wasn't a fan of coffee, but they had an amazing strawberry shortcake there.

He sat down at a table after ordering and started to eat the pastry and gazed out to the ocean. Like he assumed it did start raining.

Taehyung smiled to himself knowing he'd head out to the spot under the pier to watch the sea later.
