TODAY WAS THURSDAY. Almost Friday. Which meant it was almost the end of the week. And the day was almost over.
Me and Polo were taking videos for our project at the school garden. It was Polo's idea to have natural light while the gymnasium was already occupied by Marina and Samu.
I finished recording Polo's part. "Okay Polo, that's good." I said then he approached me.
"Let me see." Polo said then I showed him the video. "You got my nice angle. You should take a course in Film." He suggested as he nudged me on the arm.
"Maybe I should." I said casually.
Because of this project, me and Polo started to be okay with the each other but still in the back of my mind, I was still doubting if he's real or not. Sometimes I feel that he is sincere but some other days, he feels distant. I'm glad that he is in a good mood today.
"Maria, it's now your turn." Polo said as he grabs the camera from me while I go in front.
Polo signaled that the camera is recording. "Maria, preséntate a todos." Polo exclaimed.
So, I did. "Hola, mi nombre es María y me encanta bailar." After the introduction, I turned on some music on my phone then I started to dance.
After the dance, I took a bow while Polo stopped recording. "Maria, eso fue increíble." Polo complimented me for the first time then we high five each other.
As me and Polo were checking our video for the project, Lu and Carla are giving me those looks.

"Maria." Polo called to give my attention to him. "Que pasa ¿No te gusta el video?" He asked me.
"I love it Polo. You really filmed it well. No se necesita edición."
"Gracias. This is my first time to be complimented like genuinely."
"What? Not even Carla?" I asked feeling disbelief of what he said.
While Polo just shook his head in response then turns off the video camera. "I love Carla but she is not the complimenting type of girl."
"I suggest you should hang out with Guzmán and Ander more since they're your friends. You ask them to hang out with you tomorrow because it's Friday. Go for a drink or play video games."
"That's a good idea. I miss playing video games with them."
We gave each other a high five then Ander messaged me to come watch his tennis practice.
"Polo, I have to go. Ander wants me to watch his tennis practice."
"Okay, see you tomorrow at school." Polo said then he gives me the video camera.
After that, we pack all our stuff. Polo just sits down by the bench while I go to Ander's tennis practice.
Narrator's POV
When Maria went to Ander's practice. Lu and Carla approach Polo at the school garden.
"Polo, is she falling for you already?" Carla sits down next to her boyfriend.
"No but I don't want to play games anymore. She is really a nice girl and she is my bestfriend's girlfriend for goodness sake."
"Carla, your boyfriend might be the one who is falling for that Asian girl." Lu stated.
"Que? Lu, I'm not falling for her. I don't wanna do this anymore because she is not doing anything mean to us. She is my friend." Polo admitted.
"Oh yes she is doing something mean to me and Carla. She is getting compliments from the professors and popular with the boys here in Las Encinas." Lu complained.
"She is not your friend Polo, she is nothing like us." Carla said as she kiss Polo's lips gently.
But Polo pulls away then he stands up and gets his bag, "That's not my business anymore, I'm out of here."
"A dónde está mi amor?" Carla asked.
"To Ander's tennis practice." Polo said then he just walks away from Lu and Carla.
"What are we going to do with that bitch now we have no Polo supporting us?" Lu asked.
"That's simple. Haremos de su vida una pesadilla (We will make her life a living nightmare)." Carla stated, "I will make sure of it by tomorrow."
"Bitch better be prepared." Lu said amused.
Without the two knowing, Nadia was walking by when she heard everything. She runs far away then messaged Maria immediately.
