The month flew by without much happening, besides everyone preparing for the Gathering. Except they found the time to continuously go over the mate rules with us.

You're too mate in human form within seventy-two hours of the bite, than again on the night the wolf emerges, to complete the mate bond
If moon mated to a alpha than the night the human becomes a wolf the mating is to be done in front of the pack
If a human has a wolf born mate they do not want, the human has forty-eight hours to get off their mates lands
Stay loyal to your mate
Be loyal to your pack, even if that pack is not your home pack
Females are expected to immediately start baring pups
Basically the wolves have vastly improved the world, but they have set women's rights back to the whole barefoot and pregnant era.
"Sweetheart are you almost ready?"
"Yes daddy, just a few more minutes."
The black silk dress feels good against my tan skin. The slits going up both my sides stopping at my hips, has me feel like a Goddess. My black hair is pinned to make my fishtail braid look perfect.
"Raven it's time." Alley is standing at my door. She is in a pale pink off the shoulder dress. Her blonde locks are flowing perfectly with Hollywood curls.
'Please have a mate, she deserves it so much.' With that silent prayer we head out. " Let's Go."
The alphas estate is in full swing by the time Alley and I arrive.
"There you girls are! Come, come alpha Kane wants the two of you at his table." Mrs.white rushes out, while gently pushing our backs to move us towards the house.
"Once the two of you are introduced you will go directly to alpha Kane's table." Poor Mrs.White this whole shindig has added years on her appearance.
"Alley Jones, 18 years of age of the Northern pack, Only child."
"Raven Jones, 18 years of age of the Northern pack, youngest of two."
"I'm surprised she didn't announce our measurements." I whisper to Alley. She giggles thinking I'm joking, but I'm dead ass serious!
"Alpha Kane, thank you for inviting us to your table."
"My pleasure Alley, hello Raven."
"Alpha." That's all I can say because the sight of him has my mouth dry. I always thought that a man in a suit was sexy, but alpha Kane in one?
Well that's down right deadly.
Once we all sit down it hits me full force. This could very well be the last time I ever see him, or Alley ever again. Hell I may never step foot on the North's soil ever again.
Oh God my Dad! I didn't even really take the time to say a proper goodbye.
"Raven are you okay?" Alley asks while having a knowing look.
A look that says I know, and it's going to be okay.
"Yeah. I'm just hungry." Pushing all emotions to the back of my mind. This is the night that could change Alley's life for the better.
"Food will be served after the moon is at its highest, and the mates find one another." Alpha Kane says. He doesn't even sound a bit bitter about the fact that his mate was lost to him.
Just another thing to add to the list of why I am crushing on him.
"So how does this work? I mean I know what to expect and be expected of us, but how does the whole ' wolves knowing' who their mate is work?"
"Raven! You can't just speak to your alpha like that! I'm so sorry Alpha my cousin is just nervous."
Alley looks like she is ready to have a full on panic attack, and I am utterly confused as to why.
"Lower your eyes Raven, now!" She rushes out.
