"Your parents are protective of you, they must be, since you are a Princess."
"Maybe, the truth is they don't like me very much." she confesses.
"I doubt that." he responds.
"No, they will do anything to not have to see my face. They keep me locked up in the dungeon."
"What?" Christopher yells in disbelief.
Amethyst shushes him to be quiet since her parents will be able to hear.
"It's true."
Christopher sighs and runs a hand down along his face.
"What?" she questions this time.
"You should leave."
"I know that, that is what I have been planning to do."
"Let's go."
"What? No." she demands.
"Why?" he asks calmly.
"Because I am not going anywhere with you and besides I need to leave when I know where I am going to go."
"You should come with me."
"No." she argues.
"Why don't you want to me to help you?"
"Because I don't want a prince charming."
"Well thanks for the compliment." he boasts.
She rolls her eyes, despite it being unladylike.
"I don't need someone to save me, I can do it on my own. I got this far."
"You're right. You don't. Although, there is nothing wrong in getting help from someone."
"I never said there is anything wrong in getting help. I just don't need your help."
"Alright. Well, I hope to see you again soon." he states.
He then turns back around and goes off into the distance. Amethyst sighs, hoping she didn't just make a decision she will regret. She refuses in having to get help from a man, she wants to be her own saviour.
After being outside for a few more minutes, Amethyst heads back inside to back to her basement. Once she reaches her room she gets back into bed, and she makes sure to close the trap door back up.
The next morning, Amethyst woke up and got ready before her mother could come in to yell at her for not being dressed. Once she was finished getting ready, her father walked into her room. This suprised Amethyst since she rarely saw her father due to him always being busy.
"Amethyst, your cousins are coming today so be on your best behaviour." he told Amethyst in a stern tone.
"Yes, father."
He just nods his head at his daughter's reply and walks off to carry on with his royal duties. Amethyst decides to do some writing before her tutor gets here, just so she can pass by her time.
Meanwhile, Christopher was doing his work as a Knight, providing protection for Nobles. As he was doing his work, he couldn't get his mind off of the princess. There was something about her that kept his mind wandering to her beautiful face, and her dashing personality.
His thoughts were scattered since everytime he tried to concentarte, his thoughts would just drift back to her. She was a true beauty.
When Amethyst finsihes off her lessons with Ms. Elena, she goes upstairs into the main room of the castle to greet her cousins.
"Hello." she greets them.
"Hi." greets Elizabeth with a sneering smile.
"Hello dear cousin." James sniggers.
They all sit down around the coffee table that is situated in the middle of the room.
"So.." King Athur begins.
"I brought the two of you here today because I would like to announce something."
"Yes." James responds, gesturing for the King to continue.
"You James, are going to be the King of Staffordshire." the King announces.
James stares at the man in shock, his expression soon changes from one of nerves to excitement.
"Oh my goodness, thank you." he exclaims.
"Your welcome, you are fit to be King for this kingdom."
Amethyst just stares at the ground, saddened and also scared from not knowing what her future holds.
"Amethyst, of course you were first in line to become Queen, but that has changed."
Amethyst gulps in fear of what her father has to say.
"You are going to live with someone else."
"What? Who?" Amethyst cries in fear.
"A man suitable to be your husband."
Tears start to well in Amethyst's eyes, this was her greatest fear. She didn't think her parents would ever be horrible enough to give her to some man for her to marry. All she could think about was how hideous this man would be, and how her life will be one that she will hate even more than now.
"How could you do that?" she yells at her father.
"Excuse me. Don't speak to me like that." he scolds her.
"No. How could you do this to your own daughter?" she retorts back at him.
"Stop it. Leave your father alone." the Queen beckons.
Amethyst runs off and goes back into the basement of the castle to her bed to cry her worries away. At least that is what she hoped she would be able to do.
A week passes by and Amethyst stays locked up in her room, wondering how long it is going to be till she has to marry a man and move away.
