“What classes do you have Zachariah?” Erika asks, slamming the door to their room shut. She bounds over to her brother and leaps onto his bed, staring at him.
He growls and looks at her with annoyance. He WAS reading a book, but not anymore. With a sigh he sits up and pulls out a piece of paper.
“Here, have a look,” Zachariah says, handing the paper to his little sister.
They weren’t that far apart in age. Hell, they’re identical, but they were born a year apart, exact. Their birthday falls on October 28th. Erika is 17 years old, while Zachariah is 18. Zachariah was held back a year, due to failing math. It must run in the family, because every Larson that the siblings know, have been horrible at math.
“Oh, we have some classes together! English, Computer Sciences, and Health!” Erika says, her eyes wide. Zachariah nods absentmindedly. She looks at him and tilts her head to the side. “Whats wrong?”
“Hmm. Nothing. Have you looked around the school yet? I haven’t, and come to think of it, I haven’t even seen any students. Only a few teachers,” Zachariah says with a silent sigh. Erika shakes her head, leaning back.
“No, I haven’t yet, do you want to? Maybe we can meet some people,” Erika suggests. Zachariah bites his lip in thought.
“Actually, I was thinking something. This is a new school, hell it could be a new life. I want to make some changes...” Zachariah explains, looking at the cocoa colored wall across from him. Erika furrows her eyebrows.
“Changes? Such as?” She asks, folding his timetable, setting it on a small table beside his bed. He looks at her, his face serious.
“Since nobody has seen us yet, I was thinking we should change out appearance a bit. You know, dye our hair, and cut it..Maybe a piercing or two,” Zachariah says shrugging. Erika raises her eyesbrows, clearly surprised.
“You want to dye your hair and get a piercing.” She restates. He nods. After some silence, she breaks out with a huge grin. “Lets do it then!”
“Sounds good to me. Get your money, this isn’t going to be cheap. But lets discuss what we want done first.” Zachariah says with a lighter tone, happy his sister is complying to his idea. She grins and nods, scurrying off his bed, to her suitcase. A bit of rumaging later, she pulls out her wallet, and throws it on the bed.
“Well, I would kill to have shorter neon blue hair, and maybe a lip ring,” Erika says with a grin, sitting beside Zachariahs bed. He looks at her and smirks.
“I was thinking the exact same thing. Though, I would only have random streaks of neon blue. I would rather not be called gay,” Zachariah says, folding his arms across his chest. “Also, the emo fringe and shaggy look would be cool.”
“I agree. Do you want a lip ring too? Because I want a munroe,” Erika says, opening her wallet, pulling out her money.
“I’d get a labret. Centered,” Zachariah says, also pulling money out of his wallet. Soon they combine it and look at the large stack of money infront of them.
“We have $500 we can spend today, but we need to save the rest for anything else,” Erika says, counting the bills. Zachariah nods, standing up.
“Well, lets go get this done, before we have to meet up with the principal, and then our counsellers,” Zachariah says with a sigh. “We have about 6 hours till then.”
Soon, the siblings are in Zachariah’s beat up white Mitsubishi Eclipse, 1996 version. They drive in silence, only the radio breaking it. After about ten minutes of driving, Zachariah slows down at a hair salon. He looks at it, then motions for Erika to check it out. She nods.
