Later that night the siblings made their way back to their dorm. They spent the evening at the park, socializing with their new group of friends. They were both contented as they walked through the hallway, to their door. Zachariah opens it and yawns walking in, Erika right behind them. Thats when they both pause and stare, eyes wide as dinner plates.
“Who the hell are you?” Somebody asks, glaring menacingly. The siblings look at each other standing beside one another.
“Better question, who are you, and why are you in our dorm?” Zachariah asks, glaring right back. Erika places a hand on his arm. The guy huffs and rolls his eyes.
“Don’t be stupid, this has been my room for two years,” the guy says cooly, leaning back on an armchair, looking at them. Erika frowns.
“Well, we were assigned to this room,” she states bluntly. The guy looks at her, scanning her slowly. She blushes and folds her arms over her chest. Zachariah growls.
“Thats interesting, because I don’t see either of your names on the dorm listings,” the guy says, holding a piece of paper. The siblings blink and look at each other warily.
“We were assigned here though,” Erika says softly, looking at the guy.
“Exactly, so if you could so kindly escort yourself out,” Zachariah says, motioning to the door. The guy stands up, and strides over to Zachariah, staring down at him. The siblings gawk. He was a giant, standing at least 6'5“. Zachariah and Erika both back away.
“Look, this is my room, not yours. We’ll clear everything up in the morning, but till then, I’m not an asshole like you, so just stay here for the night. If you failed to notice there ARE three beds.” The guy says icily.
Erika blinks and looks around, only seeing the two beds. The guy notices this and sighs heavily, walking over to a blank spot near the wall. He grabs it, and pulls down a bed. They blink.
“Oh,” is all Zachariah says. He frowns and runs his hand through his hair. “Sorry.” The guy rolls his eyes, and sits down on the bed, staring at the twins.
“So, who are you anyway?” The guy asks. Erika blinks and smiles.
“I’m Erika and this is Zachariah,” Erika says, offering her hand for him to shake. He scowls and looks at her hand with disgust.
“Avery Jones.” He spits out, looking away. Erika flinches and pulls her hand back. Zachariah scowls and walks to his bed, kicking his shoes off, laying down.
“Whatever, good night.” He says glaring at Avery. Avery rolls his eyes and lays back on his bed. Erika stands there, and sighs heavily, walking over to HER bed. After tossing her shoes to the side, she lays down.
“Good night,” Erika mutters, closing her eyes.
There was silence for a good thirty minutes before Avery sat up in his bed. Zachariah was asleep.
“...I’m sorry for being so rude,” Avery says quietly, looking at Erika in her bed. She blinks, but doesn’t move. Silence falls upon the room, yet again. “I’m...Not good with change, as you could..tell.”
Erika sighs and sits up, looking at him in the moonlight.
“It’s fine, but you could have been a little nicer, you didn’t have to be a dick towards us. We mean no harm, it was a simple misunderstanding,” Erika says softly, with a sigh at the end.
“Sorry,” Avery says, before laying back down. Erika sits there pondering her thoughts, before laying down as well.
“I guess this school has its ups and downs,” Erika says under her breath, burrying her face in her pillow.
