Hey all!! Sorry for not posting earlier!
Anywho I hope you enjoy!
Peony's P.O.V.
Peony was breathing hard and (although she didn't want to admit it) sweating profusely. Ebony was pushing her farther then she had ever been pushed, and making her angry to boot. Peony had always prided herself on not letting her temper get the best of her but Ebony was reaching the limit. Just as Peony was about to explode at her she noticed something cross Ebony's face. It took her a minute(which Ebony used to knock her on her rear) to recognize it as worry. Ebony masked it well but there was no denying it, she was frightened. For her friends. While that made Peony more inclined to forgive her, it frightened her as well. If Ebony, the strongest person she knew, was scared she should probably be scared too. She opened her mouth to ask her what was wrong, but closed it a second later. Peony knew what was wrong, the necro-whatever had enough stuff to make a bunch of zombies, that would make any sane person worry. Peony shook her head, this was not the time to be puzzling, it was time to fight. Taking a deep breath, she slid into the fighting stance that Ebony had shown her earlier and let the cold determination flow through her.
I saw the determination enter her eyes, and felt a twinge of relief. The last thing I needed was for her to give up. We trained for another hour, when I noticed her hands shaking. Time to stop I think.
“Peony,” she looked up from her hand drills with her knife, “time to call it a night.”
She nodded and finally seemed to notice how tired she really was.
“Go take a power nap at your desk,” I told her pointing to the farmhouse, “we're pulling an all nighter.” She swallowed and nodded again, running a hand through her hair and yawning a second later. As she made her way back to the farmhouse, I let out a yawn myself. Rolling my neck, I walked back to the main building.
As I walked to the farmhouse, I saw James running out to me waving his hands to get my attention. I looked at him expectantly.
“Well?” I ask, “What is it?” He winced.
“I was checking the lists of reagents for some of the uncommon undead and a couple consistences came up,” he continued to look nervous.
“And?” I asked, growing inpatient.
“I searched all known places that sell them and only one place came up,” he took a couple steps back, I got the feeling I wasn't going to like where we were going.
“Just tell me.” I all but snapped.
“We have to go to a video game convention.” He blurted out.
I pinched the bridge of my nose, yep I didn't like it.
Five minutes later I was in the prep room for undercover opps wincing at the list of female video game characters. My options were pretty poor. What characters that did carry weapons were lacking in the clothing department. Finally I had to ask a second opinion.
“Alright,” I said as I approached the rest of my team, “I need help choosing, I don't recognize half of these.”
Peony looked over my list and pictures and scratching her head asked, “you don't know who Lara Croft is?” I shook my head.
“She's been around for thirteen years!” James exclaimed.
“I'm from before 8-bit, okay? The only female video game character I can think of is Princess Peach.” I sighed, “cut me some slack.” Richard walked over to the woman in charge of disguises. He put his sheet down and said two words.
