Rosella
I spent the past night thinking about Felix, who confused the hell out of me. Sometimes he would be nice, sometimes he would be a little rude and other times he would just be expressionless.
I walked downstairs wearing a plain white shirt tucked into a pair of black, high waisted jeans. My eyes caught Granny talking to Felix, who glanced at me, expressionless as always. I put on a smile, and walked towards the two.
"Hey Granny," I gave her a hug and chuckled after watching her shocked expression.
"Rose! You scared me!" she hugged me back, laughing, "Felix, say hi,"
"Hi," Felix muttered, making me shift my gaze to him as his big brown orbs pierced their way into mine with an expression I couldn't read.
"Hi," I shuffled awkwardly. He seemed to have completely forgotten what happened the night before.
Now that I was up close, I could see that he had a light purple bruise on his pale face. I immediately realized what might have happened the day before. Guilt ran through me. I knew that I had no right to be guilty, but it was my blood related father's doing. Just thinking of what that man might have done to Felix made me sick to my stomach. Realizing that I was staring at him for too long, once again, I looked away, my cheeks a slight tint of red.
Why do I keep blushing?
"Rosella! I made some toast for you. Enjoy!" Granny said joyfully, interrupting me from my thoughts. I found it cute that Granny would get excited with the smallest things. After taking a seat, I started to gobble up all of my food. Not even noticing, I made some weird noises.
"Nom, nom, nom," I muttered out of joy, not realizing that Felix was looking at me like I was a freak. I looked up at him and grinned. "Let a girl enjoy her meal,"
Epic Cringe.
"Sorry," I whispered as my smile faded. I continued eating my toast with blackberry jam. I had always thought that rich people would eat fancy things like caviar and lobster for breakfast, but now being a part of a rich family, I noticed those things were usually for lunch and dinner. Who knew?
I saw Mira walking in as I was almost done eating my toast. I saw that she wore a gorgeous, dark green, sleeveless dress with her hair tied up into a bun and her face caked with layers of makeup, that didn't even match her skin tone.
At least the dress is pretty....
"Felix, Rosella. Onruang and I are going to a business party. Don't burn the house down." She glared at me, making Felix and I nod. Once my father came, he just grabbed Mira's hand and left.
"Goodbye to you too, Dad..." I muttered, but Felix, who was looking at me the whole time, chuckled at my sorrow and walked away, giving me a nod.
I spent time with Granny for hours. She was really a very enthusiastic, funny lady. She told me all about her times as a teenager. She had a massive crush on this jock back in high school named Martin. This ended up in a beautiful marriage, and eventually, Mira. It was a classic "How I met your grandfather" story, but it wasn't my grandfather to begin with.
We were both sitting on a couch that I felt had a value greater than mine. I almost felt undeserving of sitting on this art piece. It looked like a famous painting had been plastered onto the couch.
"That is such a cute story, Granny!" I gave her a heartfelt smile.
"It is, isn't it? Sadly, Martin passed away a couple years ago. He was diagnosed with Hepatitis C." she gave me a sad, broken smile, which made me realize that she still kept the pain in her heart. I wanted to comfort her, but was interrupted by a thud.
