I want to first preface this story by saying that it is purely fictional. My goal as an author is not to speak for anyone within the pagan, witch, Wiccan, or religious/spiritual community. I recognize my status as an atheist and have not only devoted time to researching certain practices of magic, but have also consulted someone identifying as a Pagan to avoid cultural appropriation within this tale.
Additionally, my goal as an author is not to tell a story of good or bad magic, or good or bad people because of their magic. My goal as an author is simply to tell a story with a plethora of characters--college aged--who experience the occult and supernatural. While this story does present conflict between people, it is not to establish a moral argument or to present an ethical way to practice magic or to not practice magic.
All characters are purely fictional with exaggerated elements to convey fantasy . My intention is not to stereotype witchcraft or to further stigmatize the community, which is why as an author, I have made sure to consult people practicing the magic in the story that I write about.
With that being said, should anyone practicing any of the magic that I describe in this story feel the need to inform and/or correct me in my display and description of them--please do not hesitate to message me. Since this is a web serial fiction where chapters will be added weekly, I most certainly appreciate members of this community providing their opinion.
I hope you enjoy this tale...
