Feeling exhausted on the adventure, Alice fell asleep on the lion’s back. When she opened her eyes, she noticed that the lion was not moving for a while. Then, she asked, ‘‘Prince Lion, are we already arrive Indopian?’’ ‘‘No, but we almost arrive. As you see, without the traffic regulations, traffic here is in a mess because animal public, such as ravens and cows, have the right to move liberally,’’ said the lion. ‘‘Alright, I see. I rather walk there alternatively. It seems to be faster then be stuck here,’’ said Alice. After walking for a day, Alice saw a road sign, which is written “Welcome to ‘Indopia’!” Alice sighed and said, ‘‘finally!’’

She wandered on a street. Surrounded by an exotic music, she intentionally danced on the street. She was curious about the reason why a stranger decorated a red pattern on his foreheads. She took her courage and asked him, ‘‘is it any particular meaning of the red pattern?’’ she said. ‘‘Surely it has. We Indopians draw this on our foreheads as a lucky charm.’’ said the stranger. ‘‘Why?’’ said Alice. ‘‘For praying not assaulted by the malicious elephant,’’ said the stranger.

Once upon a time, an elephant was born. He was so handsome and charming that in Indopia, nobody disliked him. Of course, he got used to enjoying applause and compliments from the public. However, his beauty fell apart because of his increasing ages. No one could praise or be head over heel for his beauty anymore. He felt depressed and frustrated. To restore his flexible cheek, he made a deal with the witch, willing to take his soul as the priceless cost. The witch kept her promise, giving him a tiny bottle as return. The witch said, ‘‘If you drink it, you will regain what you lose immediately,’’ and she vanished. Catching the bottle, the elephant drank rushly. However, volumes of wrinkles curved on his face deeply. ‘‘Liar! You evil witch, I will never forgive your villainy,’’ said the elephant.

God never be so cruel. A fashion bouquet took place in the city palace of Indopia. He felt delightful for his third time receiving the utmost invitation. In the shindy, he invited a lady to dance. ‘‘Dame, may I have a dance with you?’’ said the elephant. The young lady giggled and said, ‘‘No, sir! Please look yourself in the mirror first. I feel sorry for your special appearance, ashamed of your hideousness. I, the most elegant dame here, only want to dance with attractive gentlemen.’’ He could not bear her humiliation, rushing to his home. From then on, he no longer went out, feeling desperate, trying to suicide for several times. However, he lost his soul in the evil bargain. Without his soul, he will never die unfortunately.

His terrible looking was spreading out the whole kingdom because of the young lady. Rumor had it that the ugly elephant is the evil embodiment of the witch. Therefore, for burning the elephant witch, the king assigned the sergeants to arrest him from his home and to bind him on the wooden peg. At the full-moon night, the elephant bound on the peg yelled and shouted for his innocence and virginity, but nobody believed him and even threw over the trash and leftovers. ‘‘Kill the witch! Kill the witch!’’ said the public. Without his soul, the elephant would not die, but the pain of being burnt was still torturing him. Suffering in the fierce hot fire, he burst into tears for his virginity. At that time, a good-hearted person rescued him. He was grateful for his help, but simultaneously, he put a curse on this land, ‘‘listen! You foolish public! I will take revenge for being teased and your ‘kind’ treatments.’’ From then on, every year, in the full-moon night, the elephant came back Indopia, destroying everything he could see, taking numerous creatures’ lives brutally.

The stranger continued to say, ‘‘the haunted nightmare is coming tonight. When it’s eight, the elephant will assault the village and snatch away our happiness’’ said the stranger. ‘‘Oh, this is such a horrible matter. How can I prevent this disaster?’’ said Alice. ‘‘Dame, I appreciate for your warm heart. What you can do is to find out where his soul possess and to help him regain his heart and feelings of love,’’ said the stranger. Alice spent all the afternoon but she failed to find it. She was upset about her failure to twist the miserable destiny.

When the full moon shined in the sky, the elephant knocked out the city wall, trampling all the building, smashing everything in front of him. Indopia now was ruined and burnt in a fire. The patriotic soldiers endeavored themselves to protect their beloved country. The helpless people and animals were crying for their loss of possessions and the death of family members. ‘‘All is gone. All is gone, ’’ said the stranger. ‘‘No. the story does not end yet. We should encourage ourselves and strive to change the situation with hope and love,’’ said Alice. Because of Alice’s bravery, the fear in the stranger’s minds vanished. They faced the elephant and struggled with him. ‘‘Who are you? Leave here or I will take your lives,’’ said the elephant. They insisted on impeding him devastating this country. However, the cruel elephant hurt them. Both of them were wounded seriously. Yet, the stranger didn’t give up. He rushed to the elephant’s presence and fought with him. The elephant used his foot to trample the stranger. He was dying, struggling, and shouting, ‘‘Do you remember the person who rescue you?’’ the elephant suddenly stopped his callous attacks. ‘‘Oh, you are that guy. Yes, indeed, I never forget. I never forget your piteous help. You are the most merciful person I have ever met. What’s your name though?’’ said the elephant. ‘‘Kama. That is my name. ” ‘‘Kama, Kama…right, I’m called Kama also. Oh, love, how can I forget your existence? I regret for what I did and forgive the hurts the public put on me,’’ said the elephant. At this moment, the mark of red umbrella on the stranger’s forehead was glittering. A flare flied out from his head, inserting into the elephant’s body. ‘‘You are his soul!’’ said Alice.

After that, both the public and Kama, the elephant, felt regretful for what they did. They reconciled to make their beloved country, Indopia, thriving and peaceful. Thus, Kama became the most powerful and loyal protector of this place. Alice felt moving for the strong power of peace and love. She smiled, wondering why God loved to use miseries to let the public know the basic truths, to love and to forgive. Spontaneously, she saw two lines of footprints on the floor. Observing the size of them, she shouted with excitement, ‘‘these are rabbit’s footprints! Mr. Rabbit! Wait for me!’’ said Alice. She went along with the footprints, continuing her incredible adventure.
