What if the world was made of cotton candy and we were cotton candy people?
Well let's just say if the world was made of candy it would be a free for all.
What does that mean?
It means you better run because if I catch you I'm going to eat you all up. Roar!!
I yelled behind Ta-miya as I chased her through the kitchen doors into the backyard.
I love spending time with my little Ta-Ta, she is the light of my life. And I know they say you're supposed to feel like your kid is the greatest but really my baby is the Bomb. She's in the 2nd grade and the smartest of her class. Everyone thinks I'm goofy until they met my little Minnie me and she lights up the room with her smile. She's the goofiest person I've ever met in my life. She has a mindset of her own and I love that about her. Honestly she will let you know what she likes, what she doesn't like and that's including you. My baby has no filter and I can't say too much about it because I know exactly who she gets it from. She is the perfect blend of me and her father, and although he and I don't see eye to eye about everything, and he has a family of his own we still come together to make sure Ta-Ta has everything that she needs. We know what's important and that's the only thing that connects us. .our baby girl.
Before you get the wrong idea from me saying he has a family of his own let me explain. Deandre is my daughter's father's name but we call him dre. We met when I was 16 and very naive. I was a sophomore in high school and had just moved to Indiana. Long story short I got into it with one of his friends and he liked the "fire" as he calls it inside of me so we started to hang out. We hung out for a while before he talked me into giving up my virginity to him. Once he got it he transferred schools and everyone blamed me for it because I was the person he hung out with his last day at the school. Not to mention that he was the star quarterback for our football team. I found out I was pregnant and eventually so did everyone when I started to show. I didn't see dre again until after ta-ta was 2 years old because I couldn't get in touch with him. But when I did I was eighteen and he was 19years old and in his first year of college and engaged to his wife now. So it's not that I was sleeping with him while he was married.
When dre found out about ta-ta I had ran into him at a jazz festival off the canal. I was there with my friends and he was there with some of his college friends. Once we made eye contact I knew I needed to tell him, it's like the feelings I had for him years before had started to come back. And not like im so in love with him but I know dre and I know he's really a good person and he should know. So I walked over to him and we found a place to talk and I told him. As I explained to him what happened and telling him about his daughter I couldn't help but compare his face to my baby's face.
She looks like you. I blurted out in the middle of him asking what she looks like.
Really? He said with the biggest grin on his face
Yes, she is the cutest little thing in this world. With your almond shape eyes but my light brown eye color. She has my chubby cheeks but your nose and lips and she has good hair.
He looks up at my fresh silk press that ended in the middle of my back.
She must get her hair from me he said joking
I couldn't help but laugh.
Boy boo you and I both know "good" isn't referring to that carpet that's sitting on top of your head.
We both busted out laughing.
Can I meet her? - Dre
Of course she your daughter.
I didn't have any problems with dre about leaving me anymore. I went through a lot with school and the kids there and being pregnant so young but having my daughter taught me to be mature. Plus our daughter needs to know her father, I want her to have a good life with parents that get along.
I have a daughter. . I have a daughter. – Dre
