A Simple Trip (Amedot AU) (On Hold)

Chapter 1: The Fall

3rd Person POV:

It was a nice, peaceful day out by the (newly rebuilt) barn. Lapis was standing on the dirt path leading up to the building, smirking. Peridot was up on a balcony near the roof, preparing something to take up to the top of the barn. A nearby warp pad lit up, a small purple quartz and a hybrid son of a diamond emerging from it's soft white and blue light.

"Yo, Peri!" Amethyst shouted to the green gem on the balcony.

"Hi, Peridot! Hey, Lapis!" Steven greeted.

"Oh, hello Steven and Amethyst." Lapis turned and greeted in return.

"Steven! Amethyst! Hello!" The Peridot shouted from the balcony, waving.

"What ya doin' up there, Pear?" The quartz yelled.

"Oh, this?" She asked, motioning to what she held in her hands, "I am attempting to use this 'solar panel' to get some more electricity in the barn. I have a few experiments that will need more than what we have and as I have figured out, electricity isn't exactly free."

"Heh, yeah! Remember that one time when you used way too much and Greg made you work for the some of the money he had to spend?" The ocean-colour gem laughed, causing Peridot to blush slightly.

"Yes, yes, Lazuli." She said, knowing the name wasn't exactly her favourite.

Steven giggled at this, "Well then, you have fun. I gotta go check on some stuff in New Homeworld, so see ya!" He waved, receiving the same gesture back from the other three gems.

"Bye, Steven!" They called in unison, laughing a little at the realization. The young boy lit up the warp pad and set off.

"So, Amethyst, wanna see what this thing can do?" Peridot asked.

"Sure, why not." She shrugged, watching as the small Olivine climbed up to the roof with a solar panel. It floating beside her because of her ferrokinesis. Peridot began to assemble parts onto the firm tiles of the roof, the other areas being quite loose other than where she placed the panel. They slide slightly under her feet, causing her to wobble.

"Are you ready!?" She shouted down.

"Yep! Just be careful!!" Amethyst shouted back.

The olivine placed the panel and secured into the roof. She stepped back slightly, towards where Lapis and Amethyst stood on the ground below.

"Yeah! I did it!" She cheered, hopping slightly. This caused her to slip, falling off of the roof and onto the dirt and soil.

"PERIDOT!" The others panicked, trying desperately to catch the green gem.

They failed.

Peridot plummeted to their feet.

"Peri?" The quartz worriedly spoke. No answer.

"You okay?" She said again. No answer again.

Lapis started, "Peridot?!"

No response, once more.

"What do we do?" The two thought...
