Free Quest

Chapter 2

Stevi and about 20 other people follow Daniel up the stairs. He leads them over to an empty area and waits for everyone to file in. "First, we're going to learn how to equip things," Daniel says, nodding his head. "All you have to do is say equip with a firm voice and your inventory will be brought up."

Everyone does as they're told and sounds of surprise fill the room as their inventories pop up. "Now click on whatever you want to equip and you'll equip it."

"To use hp potions just equip them, take the cap off and drink it," Daniel says. "It tastes like kool-aid, I swear."

Stevi snickers at that and he looks over to her. Stevi's eyes flicker pink as he smiles at her. "Keep in mind there are different types of potions," He goes back to teaching. "For stuff like poison, you throw them at your target."

"How do you use scrolls?" A random guy asks.

"That was next," Daniel states. "Scrolls are used to summon things that aren't magical. The scroll should be labeled with what you're summoning so once you equip it, it will appear."

"How do you see a person's hp?" Another random guy asks.

"If you focus right above a person's head, it'll show you their health bar which has; their hp, name, status effects they're under," Daniel explains. "Status effects will appear below their hp bar while their names are above it."

"How do we use spells?" Some girl asks.

"I'm not entirely sure, the spell you unlock is randomly generated so that everyone isn't walking around with the same spells," He states. "I'm the highest level among us death knights, a level six. You unlock your first spell at level four, who all is a level four or higher?"

He starts scanning the group of people, looking for raised hands. Stevi looks around to see if there are other people who are a level four, not wanting to be singled out. Daniel becomes discouraged as he doesn't see any hands raised, concluding that the stronger players died earlier. Stevi timidly raises her hand and he smiles. "Everyone else can leave because I already taught you the basics," Daniel says. "But I'll help Mrs. Lotion667."

Stevi blushes as he says her username but corrects him, "call me Stevi."

Everyone quickly clears out, leaving her and Daniel alone. "So what spell do you have?" Daniel asks her.

"I- uh- I don't know." Stevi stammers.

"Do you know how to pull up the spells?"

"Yea," Stevi says. "Spells!"

A small screen pops up in front of her labeled spells. "Now let's take a look," He says, looking at the one spell she has."What! That's one of the most powerful spells, Ground Breaker! Hardly anyone has it because even though the spells are random, it's a higher chance to get low tier spells."

"Ground Breaker?"

"It's a powerful spell that can shatter the ground."

"So if I'm in a pinch I could just whip it out?"

"Well, no. Death knights are knights who sold their soul to the devil to gain this power. Because of that our spells cost hp and not mana like the other classes."

"How much hp does this spell use?"

"20,000. When I looked at your health bar earlier you only had 17,000 so, using this spell right now would kill you."

"Alright, I guess I won't be whipping that spell out."

"Because our spells use hp we are granted a lot of it. So the next time you level up you should be able to use it."
