"You sure took awhile." Namjoon said as I came up to my desk.
Ignoring his comment, I asked, "Do you know a guy named Yoongi?"
At my question, his eyes widened. "What? Why are you asking? How do you know him? Did he hurt you? That bastard-." I covered his mouth with my hands before he could continue.
"So you do know him. What do you know about him?"
"He's a big troublemaker. He's been in trouble with the law a couple times. It's a wonder how he isn't in jail. His full name is Min Yoongi. He's constantly causing trouble. His family is rich, so they pay off the authorities to overlook everything he does and keep it off his record. He's an asshole. Stay away from him. Nothing good can come from being around that guy."
I slowly nodded, and he leaned forward and hugged me. "Be careful, Jimin. If you have any runins with him, I want you to tell me immediately."
"I..will." I said quietly, but that didn't stop me from being curious about it for the rest of the day.
After school, Namjoon walked me home. The entire walk, he tried to tell me about all the bad things that Yoongi had done, that he was dangerous and that he was a crazy bastard. I only half listened, not really that interested. Whenever we got to my door, I gave him a hug.
He smiled at me, his cute deep dimples showing. He began to lean down to give me a kiss, but I shied away--to both of our surprises.
"Um..okay.." He said, obviously hurt that I had rejected him for no reason. "I'll see you Monday then..?"
"Er...yeah." I said awkwardly. Why did I shy away from his kiss?
I watched as he walked away, until he was out of view. Then, I went inside and up to my room, not even bothering to announce my arrival. I went to the bathroom and took a long bubble bath. Whenever I finished, I dressed in shorts and a big t-shirt and sat at my desk, listening to quiet music and doodling a bit on a sheet of paper as my thoughts wandered about Yoongi.
He said that he would see me tonight. Is he going to break into my room through my window at midnight again? My parents are going to be home though. My dad will probably be able to smell him even in his sleep if he came into my room.
Should I stay awake till midnight?
As I pondered that, I saw the door open in the corner of my eye. I took out my earbuds and turned my head to see my mom.
"Sweetheart, it's time for dinner."
Already?
I looked at the time on my phone, and it was, in fact, already eight. I had been thinking for that long? I sighed, and got up from my desk. I followed her downstairs and only halfheartedly responded to my parents as they spoke to me. They definitely noticed my odd behavior, but neither said anything. Instead, my mom asked me to help her with the dishes before I went back up to my room. I did, spending a good thirty minutes helping her clean up the kitchen. Whenever I went back up to my room, I went to my desk and threw away the paper I had been doodling on, before I got in my bed.
I'm not going to stay up for him. Chances are, he was just saying that to make me nervous. That seems like something he would do.
Is what I thought, but a couple hours later, I could hear a quiet thumping on my window. I woke up, and my heart skipped a beat whenever I saw a silhouette crouching on the rooftop outside my window.
