But there was something in Jungkook which made him say
"It's been a while.... Can we talk?"
The guy blurted out, internally scolding himself for saying those
Meanwhile, Lisa was a bit shocked. She was so sure that Jungkook had a grudge against her.
She remembered the day they broke up, the anger, pain and hatred was vivid and clear in Jungkook's eyes. She knew he was hurt, but she was too.
"I-I mean, I came all the way here, looking for you because Yoongi hyung told me to do so." Jungkook explained
Jungkook knew it sounded as an excuse.
On the other hand, the bag of sadness suddenly felt heavier that her heart had sunk to the bottom, not able to grip and stay strong for her.
Her world shattered.
She expected that Jungkook came here because he knew she was sad and hurt. Lisa mentally laughed at herself, it was supposed to be their 6th anniversary.
But then Jennie told her that they're going to meet her boyfriend so Lisa had no choice but to follow.
If only she didn't follow her Eonnie, she might not be there, in the verge of crying.
She sniffed which Jungkook heard.
His eyes widened and his hands automatically made its way to hold her arms.
Lisa was startled but her heart beat became rapid
"Yeah... It's been a while, sunbaenim." She said, looking up
"Are you alright?" Jungkook asked, completely forgetting that he disliked Lisa for a long time
"I-I'm good, sunbaenim. Come on, have a seat." She offered, letting her back face Jungkook
She smiled as she took her almost soaked handkerchief
She wiped her tears and took a seat on the bench.
Jungkook took a seat beside her, maintaining a distance
"It's still beautiful... I think nothing changed here, sunbaenim, right?" Lisa said, comparing the city lights to how it used before
Jungkook took a deep breathe and answered...
"Yeah, it's still beautiful... Just like how they used to."
"And please, call me Jungkook. It's not like we've never had a past." Jungkook chuckled
Lisa looked at him. She knew he just forced it to look like he really wanted to talk to her, and just be nice.
He doesn't want to hurt her feelings.
But little did he know, he just did... unknowingly.
"Sunbaenim, please don't force yourself to be that nice in front of me. It's fine with me calling you Sunbaenim." Lisa laughed
Jungkook was taken a back. The he heard her laugh
"That's not the way you laugh. C'mon, tell me what's wrong..." Jungkook softened
It made Lisa stop her laughter and looked at him, amused.
"Are you alright, Sunbaenim? Are you that concerned to your hoobaes?" Lisa said, trying hard to change the topic
"They say that it's better to tell your problems to strangers. We're strangers... aren't we?" Jungkook bitterly chuckled
Lisa's smile dropped.
