It's been about three days now since I graduated from the University Of Central Florida with my Bachelors in Fine Arts. I arrived home from emptying out my dorm to find a note on my closed bedroom door. "We have a surprise for you for doing so well and graduating college, but you're going to have to find it. There are clues all around the house."
I put my suitcase and backpack on my bed, removed the note from my door and started looking wondering what the surprise could be? Is it a new car? No. It couldn't be! Maybe its a new computer, since the one I have now is really old. No. It might not be that either! What about a new iPad? Possibly!
Now it's time to start looking at the clues and see what the surprise could be. I started looking around the house for the clues and I found the first one on the hallway by my bathroom. "These are your favorite cookies. You could eat them everyday if you wanted to." I started questioning myself. Oreos? No. Chips Ahoy? No. Dark Chocolate Jojo's from Trader Joe's? No, it couldn't be. Then it clicks in my head! Jammie Dodgers and Jaffa Cakes! I had those a few weeks ago! Now I'm getting excited. What if those are it? Although, I shouldn't come to a conclusion if I'm wrong so I continue my search for clues.
I found another one down in the kitchen by the Keurig machine. "You used to watch this show with your sister on this specific channel before she moved out to California." Now to put the thinking cap on! AMC? Maybe. I did watch a ton of movie and shows on that channel with her. TCM? I don't think so. My sister watched all those classic movies on her own. Oh wait! the BBC channel! We watched Dr. Who together a lot before she moved! Now I'm getting more and more excited about my surprise. I'm still trying to put the pieces together. Two more clues left till I find out what my surprise is. I'm definitely getting excited. I'm trying to figure out what it could be. I don't want to give up hope if I'm wrong. I take a break from looking at the clues to have lunch. Sitting down in the family room, I eat macaroni and cheese and drink my leftover matcha green tea I got from Starbucks this morning.
After lunch, I decided it was time to get back to looking for the last two clues of my surprise. I continue my search when I find the next clue in my dad's office on top of my laptop. The clue reads: "You'll need this to get where you're going. the one most important thing." I look around and try to find the most important thing that my parents are talking about. What can it be? Money? Maybe. It is an important thing. Airline tickets? That depends if the surprise calls for those. What about my passport? Yes! I could use that too..I'm getting pretty excited now! Could it be a cruise? A trip to Europe?
Now onto the last clue. I spot it on top of something blue. I go to the clue and it says: "The last clue. Open me to find what's inside." Nervous as usual, I open the last clue. My passport and plane ticket are inside. I'm going to England for 3 weeks for my graduation! A trip I have been dreaming of since I was a senior in high school! Is this real? Am I dreaming? Someone pinch me so I can wake up. England? Not only do I get to see where the Queen lives, but I also get to see Big Ben in person. I'm so excited for these next 3 weeks I could cry!
