So, I'm Annabella. Normal, plain old Annabella. Nothing about my life tested the boundaries of 'extraordinary ' or 'exciting' and quite frankly, I'm sick of it. Which is why I have decided to re-invent myself. Call it a midlife crisis if you will -even though I'm 17, yes it can still be called a midlife crisis- and I know of one person that can definitely help me out.

Arabella.

My best friend since the first day of Primary school. Everyone calls us Bella² which is kind of funky but also out dated. We both go to Ocean-view College -which is, believe or not, right next to the ocean!- and we are embarking on our final year. We share all the same classes and, as luck would have it, we're also neighbors. Not really a shock considering we sat down one summer and made a list of reasons why we should live next door which included:

"You won’t have to drive us across town the whole time to get us to each other’s houses."

"We won’t ever annoy you ever again because we will be spending too much time together"

And my favorite: "You'll be the coolest parents ever!"

Whichever reason, they gave in and we moved in next door.

Okay, so the reason I think Arabella can help my crisis is because if there is anyone who knows everything about me it's her, which means she can change everything too. Get it?

I called her up and told her of operation "Re-invent Annabella from nobody to somebody." She squealed with excitement and said she had the perfect plan. "No turning back now." I told myself and surprise, surprise I didn't have a care in the world. Considering she only had less than 100metres to walk, she took an incredibly long time, but then I found the reason for her delay.  She waltzed into my room carrying a stack of magazines and a book cradled against her chest.

Oh sweet Mother of Jesus, what have I gotten myself into?

"The Look, The Guy, The Reputation," She began as she plonked herself on my bed bursting with excitement. Before I had time to react she chucked the book at me. "The Look, The Guy, The Reputation."  Makes sense.

"Okay, I think this book will do you wonders! It is like the ultimate Girble."

"Um, Girble?"  Silly for asking, but really?

"The Girl Bible of course!" Of course! How could I not know that...

"Anyway," She continued. "First rule: Only read this one page at a time. No skipping ahead and no chickening out at any point in time. Understood?"

"Yes Ma'am!" I saluted her and laughed. I opened the book to read the first page out loud,

"First chapter, The Look. The most essential stepping stone in becoming the new you." Sounded about right. All though, re-inventing me to be the Queen of the monkey troop at the zoo sounded good too. Don't judge me, I am trying to re-invent myself remember?

"Excellent! Let's get this shindig started! Oh! And don't forget the Girble it is a vital part of this process!"

"Heaven forbid I forget the Girble! I bet you have it memorised." I narrowed my eyes and she laughed,

"Of course I do silly! But that doesn't mean for you to not take it with you! Now let's get going, I'm so excited!" Springing off my bed, she grabbed my arm and pulled me down stairs and into the garage. We hoped into my white Mercedes -nice right?- and headed off into town. My initial thought was to head straight to the shopping centre but Arabella decided we should head to the hair salon. (No pun intended.)  We got out of the car and headed inside. Arabella's excitement was contagious and I found myself grinning from ear to ear.  When we got inside I turned to her,
