Agent Stone entered the van at 7:00 am. He saw the doctor working feverishly at his desk. "Good morning Doctor, how are y-"
The Doctor raised his hand as if to say 'shut up' and then waved it, 'go'. Agent Stone went into the other room, to not bother the Doctor. He did other work. Agent Stone stayed in the other room for a few hours, he knew how Robotnik got when he was focused. Robotnik was seemingly fine until Stone heard him cursing from the other room. Agent Stone, concerned, entered his office and stood next to Robotnik.
"Doctor, what's wrong? Did something happen?" Robotnik didn't answer. He just glared at his work. Agent Stone looked at it too, it was a blueprint for a new prototype robot. The Blueprint was messy. It had several drawings of the robot, scribbled out with words wwlike 'wrong' or 'unmanageable' written above them. There was also a written description, but the handwriting was almost unintelligible and clearly had been rushed.
"How long have you been working on this, Doctor?"
Robotnik raised his hands and showed 6 fingers.
"You need to take a break, you're overworking yourself."
"I'll take a break when I deserve a break"
Dr. Robotnik picked up his pencil as if to she he was fine, but his hand was shaking. He dropped the pencil and leaned forward over the desk, elbows on the seat and head in his hands. Agent Stone put his hand on the Doctor's shoulder and offered his other hand in view. Robotnik took his hand and Stone led him to the other room, where they sat down and let go of each other's hands.
"Doctor, you're overworking yourself. I'm worried about your health"
"You're... worried about me?"
Agent Stone blushed slightly, but ignored the question.
"You need a break from work. It's al you ever do. I'm sure your plan was to to work this weekend too."
"Was?"
He ignored that one too.
"Doctor, I was invited to a bar by some people I was friends with in college. They said to bring friends, so you should join me."
"You consider me a friend?"
Stone pretends he's does not hear it.
"I can pick you up if that's more convenient, tomorrow at 7:00 pm. I know your address and it's on the way, so it wouldn't be out of my way."
"Agent, I don't know what you think I'm saying, but I haven't agreed to anything yet"
"Yet? Does that mean you're going to say yes?"
"...I don't like social interaction. I most likely won't like the people around us, but I suppose I could make this one sacrifice."
Agent Stone smiled, he didn't particularly like bars and hadn't talked to the people they were meeting in years, but he got to spend time with Robotnik outside of work, therefor it was almost like a date. Robotnik thought it was like that too, but he wouldn't admit it out loud.
