A/N I am so sorry for neglecting this story. School just had been a lot, and now everything that we've practiced towards are getting canceled because of Corona. So, I am a little bit pissed at the world. But, here is the rest. I hope you like it.
*********
The days came and went. The student population seemed to have an agenda towards Hadrian ever since he became one of the champions. Hannah and her gang had been the loudest in their displeasure.
They started to harass Hadrian more than ever. So, he had started to travel around in his Animagus form. They had achieved it over the summer after a year of studying. It was Sirius who had unintentionally pushed Hadrian and his friends into wanting to learn.
Draco achieved it first when he transformed into a white ferret. Next was Hadrian as he became a little mouse lemur. Third was Ronald when suddenly a big Siberian husky stood in his place. Lastly, Blaise transformed into a black cat.
They had had so much fun when they finally could turn into animals. Chasing each other in a random field and cuddling with each other on each other's beds were among the things they did.
Currently, Hadrian was hitching a ride with Ronald on his shoulder in his Animagus form. He was hidden in his scarf and was cuddling close into Ronald's neck. Ronald didn't mind this, though when Hadrian readjusted a little it tickled.
Hadrian hid like this for weeks, only showing up as a human in the classes that he didn't have Severus in. Which meant every class other than potions.
In potions he hid close to Severus' neck under his long hair. He couldn't sit with Ronald, Draco or Blaise because of the potential danger to the little animal that he was.
It was soon time for the first task and Hadrian was scared. He had trained every day with his friends, even gotten some help from Severus, but he didn't think it was enough.
The evening before the task, Hadrian hid in his chest as a mouse lemur. It was spacy enough as he had put everything away in the closet. So, it was just him, a blanket and some footsteps coming closer. Hadrian's ears perked up instantly. He could hear some breathing and still those footsteps.
Suddenly, someone called out his name.
"Hadrian?" Ronald had been looking everywhere, but he couldn't find Hadrian at all. He had looked at the typical spots such as the room of requirement, the library, Professor Snape's office and the common room. He listened closely, trying to hear some sort of sign that Hadrian was there at all.
Hadrian peeked out of his chest, still a tiny lemur, and saw that it was only Ronald. Ronald saw this movement and went over to him. He picked him up from the chest and held close to his heart.
"Hey," Ronald was very calm and quiet, "I've been worried about you." Hadrian gave a guilty look, but Ronald wouldn't have any of that.
"It's okay to hide away for a while, I just wanted to make sure you were okay." Ronald stroked the top of Hadrian's head, this action had Hadrian give a purring sound.
Standing there swaying a bit, Ronald managed to calm Hadrian down. It wasn't long before they both were on Hadrian's bed, this time both human, holding onto each other. They stayed like that for the rest of the night, eventually falling asleep.
*
Hadrian passed the first task with flying colours. He got the egg and had already managed to figure out the clue hidden within. The next worry was who he was supposed to go to the ball with. Draco and Blaise were going together, Hadrian wanted to go with Ronald, but didn't dare ask.
