In which Stella goes through her years at Hogwarts, trying not to get caught up in the antics of Harry Potter and discovering secrets of the Wizarding World.

THE LIFE OF STELLA TATE was far from normal, from her cats fur morphing from colour to colour to the random bursts of sparks in their house. Stella's mother, Eloise Tate, believed that she was going crazy. Although they grew up in a small town, their neighbours and other kids from school began to notice the odd occurrences that surrounded the Tate duo. So, the September before Stella turned seven, her mother pulled her out of school to protect her from the schoolyard bullies who repeatedly would call her "freak" and other names. This however, did nothing to protect Eloise from what she believed to be her own descent into madness.
AT LEAST, SHE THOUGHT that she was going mad, until a letter with a purple seal arrived declaring that Stella was, if fact, a witch. After this, Eloise knew that it wasn't all in her head and took relief that her daughter, now eleven, found a reason to believe she wasn't actually a "freak" in the world, that she had a place to fit in.
ELOISE DIDN'T TAKE MUCH interest in the Wizarding World, fearing if she fell into the rabbit while she truly would go mad. This was simpler to Stella, she knew it was safer for her mother if she didn't have to worry about giant snakes in the plumbing, or that a mass murderer was on the loose and was making his way to Hogwarts.
SO, FOR STELLAS fourth year at Hogwarts, she didn't have to worry about being petrified again, she had to worry about getting her soul sucked out of her and about the notorious killer, Sirius Black.
