Lucy's POV:
We had just gotten home from The Darlington 500, and I must say... I was still a bit flustered after what almost happened between Wyatt and I in the back of the car.
I was just inches from him when...
The mission continued, then before I knew it, we were back home to our time.
We all started to get ready for our nights in the bunker, the usual bathroom routines and last-minute snacks, when we heard agent Christopher and Mason come into the room. They were standing by the doorway, looking like they had some pretty important news to share with us. This was no longer concerning like it had been the first few trips, it was more an irritant. What now? Did Rittenhouse jump already? We just got back.
Before I could even guess what they were going to say, a taller, raven haired figure behind them pushed past and said, "To think I escaped prison for this..."
Flynn. There he was, standing in the doorway. I have to say, I was a little relieved I wouldn't have to keep sneaking off to the prison with agent Christopher every time we needed new information from my journal, but having him here brought up a whole new set of emotions I couldn't even describe. I was happy, calm almost, but at the same time cautious, because I knew the rest of the team didn't feel the same way.
Then Wyatt spoke his opinion on the matter.
"I'm still not sure why we are helping the man who once tried to kill us, and not to mention he kidnapped Lucy...." Wyatt spoke with a snarl and glared at the taller man. Wyatt was not on the same side as Lucy and agent Christopher with bringing him here. He then stormed to his room. Wyatt can't stand Flynn, I get why he feels that way, but we need him.
I give Flynn a small smile and walk past him through the doorway into the hall. I passed my room. I passed Rufus' room. I passed the empty room Flynn would now be occupying. Then I passed the bathroom. After what seemed like 5 minutes down the long corridor, I got to Wyatt's room, which was the end door to the left, before the hallway turned right. I came to talk about Flynn... and earlier.
"Wyatt... it's me, can we talk please?" he opens the door and it's pitch black in the room. He's not standing there in the light coming in from the hall to be seen. It was nightfall and with the new blackout curtains we got to help us all sleep, it made the rooms eerily dark. There was no response, so, I just stepped into the room.
"Wyatt..."I began, but before I could finish talking to him, the door closed and I was pinned to it gingerly, but still with force. One hand cupped the left side of my face, and the other rested on the small of my back. Then I heard him speak.
"Lucy, about earlier in the trunk... you forgot this...." and soon after the words escaped from his mouth, his lips pressed softly to mine. Not our first kiss, it actually wasn't like that one at all. This wasn't for convincing Bonnie and Clyde we were a couple, an act we put up to be believable, no, this was soft and filled with emotion. This was genuine.
We pull apart and he turns on his bedside light and sat on his bed, he patted the mattress space next to him, motioning for me to sit with him on his cot. I walked over and sat, looking him in the eyes. God, I've always loved his blue eyes, ever since that first day we met at Mason industries, and he sat across from me in that room, calling me ma'am.
"Wyatt... we need Flynn here," I say and grab his hand, interlocking our fingers, "He knows more about Rittenhouse than any of us, and he knows more about....me." I look down at our hands and think for a bit in the silence. We really do need Garcia, I need him. I just wish Wyatt and Rufus would see it that way.
"I just can't lose you again... baby doll." He winked as he used the name from our 1934 trip. I looked up to meet his gaze and smiled.
"He won't take me from you... shweethaurt" I over pronounce it like I did before. We both giggle at that, and I quickly peck his cheek before leaving to go to bed myself.
I step into the hall and turn to my room, only to bump into a tall figure, I almost fall, but two arms wrap around me to catch me from falling.
I look up to meet a pair of dark green eyes, and a soft smile. Flynn. I smile and back up a bit. My face turns to a red blush out of embarrassment, I need to watch where I'm going.
"Sorry, I wasn't watching, have a nice night Flynn," I say and rush past him to my room. I could feel his eyes following me to my door as I walked in, but I ignored it and got ready for bed. Hopefully tomorrow will go smoothly.
