I ran to my room and began to search my bag if I had any weed left. A paper from one of my books dropped.I picked it up.
It was time table for our third term promotional examination starting next week!
Shit!
"No, no! Why, now? Why? I haven't been reading. They fucking gave me a two weeks suspension and now I have to get ready for their exam"
I plopped on my bed, my hands on my head.
"Why does this world hate me?" I cried.
I felt a rush of bitterness flow into me. It did not come as a flood but as a torrent.
Weed!
I searched my bag again and finally found my precious weed.
"You're always there to save my day" I told the wrap and planted a kiss on it.
Excited, I began to unfold the paper. Then, I began to sniff and snort without stopping. It burnt my nose, I could feel tears sting my eyes. I cared less though. I continued to sniff and snort.
"Do you want to die?"
I heard her voice. I spun around. There was no one there. I continued to sniff my weed.
"Your mom is staying here!" I heard him say.
"No!" I wailed, dropping the paper on my shelf. My eyes caught my time table again. The prints began to fly about and I swear, I could hear the texts.
"Chemistry and Biology practicals this Thursday"
Shit! Shit! Shit!
"This Thursday?" I exclaimed with my hands on my head. My room began to spin, changing from my house, to school, to church, to hospital. My brain was working overdrive!
"Leave my brother alone or else...!" Her voice echoed in my head.
"I've left him! Please, leave me...!"
"Leave my brother alone or else...!"
This time, she sounded very close to me. I turned my head and yes there was someone in my room! It was a girl with a hood but no face! In fact, no head!
She's here?!
I wanted to stand up but I couldn't feel my legs! My laps had glued to each other and she kept coming closer.
"Please! Please! I beg you!" I was crying. The tears were flowing from my eyes like water from a tap. My heart was beating too fast responding to the too much adrenaline that was being released in my body.
I began to sweat profusely. My body continued to shake on its own accord. My eyes tightened itself shut.
Please, let this nightmare end!
My eyes opened when I felt water splashed on my face. Right before me, the hood girl stood with a bowl of cold water. Or was it blood?!
I began to scream again.
"Mirabel, calm down. It's me"
The hood went off and my cousin's head popped out.
"Dianne! Dianne! I can't feel my legs!"
She didn't say anything. She just began to hit me very hard without stopping.
When I got irritated with it, I stood up and pushed her.
