𝐈 𝐖𝐀𝐒 𝐋𝐀𝐘𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐃𝐎𝐖𝐍 on her bed as she silently wrote in our shared notebook, but I suddenly sat up.
"Yo can we stop writing for a second?" I asked whilst scratching my head.
"Oh are you hungry too? 'Cause I'm ready for those burgers down the street now" Olivia replied as she closed her book. I smiled lightly but shook my head.
"I mean that's not why but - actually let's go I'm hungry too" I offered, she nodded and we both leapt off her bed to head out.
Olivia was helping me write a song again, but now for my upcoming album. I was sleeping over at her place tonight and working on melodies, concepts and lyrics. I was so excited to have her feature on a track, she knew how much I loved her songwriting and the world was going to love it.
But we were only 20 minutes into the night and I was simply dazed, Liv was pretty much working solo and I said I was lying down and thinking of lyrics. But I only ended up thinking about...a girl I had only known for about a week.
"What's up though, you look a bit spaced. If you're worried about your lyrics, the ones you have right now are fine" she asked as she put on her jacket.
"Yeah I guess but - I don't know maybe I need a distraction...feels like I'm just pulling these lyrics out my ass and I'm just, not feeling them as much as usual" I replied still in a daze and Liv stopped moving for a second.
"Is this about that girl? Andi - "
"Addie. Wait - no?" I then defended sheepishly and Liv chuckled. She sighed before gesturing for me to sit down on the bed again.
"No I don't need to talk -"
"Shut up Joshy, it's time for some girl talk" Liv declared, already making her way back to her pillow. I rolled my eyes and sat by the edge.
"Now this feels like a sleepover, tell me more about herrrr" Liv sang as she snuggled into the pillow. I laughed at her antics before giving in and sitting closer to her. I did really feel like I wanted to talk about this.
"I dunno it's just. Addie and I have been talking - only for like a week mind you - but, we get along like pretty well. And I know that she's a fan and that's dangerous territory -"
"I mean it's not always like that, she can't put up a façade long enough if she was truly crazy or anything, and you'd know it in your heart, right?" Liv interjected. I thought about her words before nodding.
"But also, we haven't really seen each other since we first met and now I'm trying to write. And the lyrics I actually like - I'm seeing glimpses of her or - some shit" I began, I then saw Liv pout in my direction and I waved her off.
"Stop, but then it's like - I don't know if she wants to see me almost? Like she seems very shy to do so and I brought it up kinda the other day...once and she just thought I was joking," I continued and I watched my best friend nod in thought.
"But you guys talk everyday?" she then asked.
"Yeah but only for like fucking 30 minutes as it's just on Instagram which is obviously a huge inconvenience, like I use my whole time on there to talk to her as much as possible till I leave her on seen" I complained, Liv just looked guilty for the social media restrictions, but couldn't help a smile.
"Okay genius, we'll figure out the apps one day but how about, you just ask her for her number" she asked condescendingly and I shook my head immediately.
