Adeline's POV
𝐈 𝐆𝐈𝐆𝐆𝐋𝐄𝐃 𝐀𝐓 𝐒𝐎𝐌𝐄 of the comments I got from my recent tweet, it was mostly Blaire and other friends from work, and some fan accounts. I liked most of them before I saw 'my boss' walking past and I needed to place my phone in my drawer. She nodded at me with her cup of coffee in hand and I watched the mug with envy, I really wanted a coffee.
I begrudgingly started my newest task, making the flier for the Disney Ball that Head Office was organising - which included Gwen. It had been hours of watching tutorials about graphic design whilst greeting the passing clients and models.
So many of them were really attractive, but I stopped daydreaming about being with hot people out of my league a while ago. It's like I broke my own heart when I came back into reality.
"Alright I'm going on my lunch break, how's the graphic design Addie" Gwen announced as she walked back to my desk. I sighed and closed my laptop.
"It's - going. Learning a lot online and I'm pretty sure it'll be done within the week." I replied and she nodded.
"Ahh and here's my lunch date" Gwen sang and I followed her eye line and sighed again. The guest walked in with squinted eyes at me.
"Mother dearest in the flesh" I said with a smile, before standing up and hugging her with wide arms.
"Hey Deli, I got you a coffee," she replied before placing the Starbucks cup on my desk and I thanked her, "you ready to go cuz?" she then asked Gwen.
"Yeah we're outta here, I'm really craving that sushi down the street," Aunty G replied. We all then continued some small talk til one mention of the ball lighted a bulb in my Aunt's brain.
"Adeline that reminds me, you didn't even show me a picture of the boy" she said with a feigned offence in her tone. I furrowed my brows and looked at my Mom - which then reminded me that she had already updated the women in the neighbourhood about this mystery boy.
"There's not much to show and tell I - "
"Don't be modest Addie - trust me Gwen he is pretty decent," Mom said and her cousin smirked back. I looked between them with squinted eyes.
"Mom you were in my good books for like 2 minutes and you ruined it" I complained whilst gesturing to the Starbucks cup, Mother simply tsked.
"Okay we're not gonna be a bunch of high-schoolers about this - can you guys be authoritative figures and tell me to stay away from boys instead like everyone else" I asked exasperatedly and they simply scowled at me with no retort. Well I can already tell that didn't work.
'Don't you have a flier to make Adeline?" Aunty G then suggested and I sighed before walking back to the chair.
"Okay well we'll back of a little bit then, as long as he's a nice guy to you and you're happy" Gwen said and I gave her a crooked smile. Well that's something.
"Y-yes he does. He's a really nice guy and very charming, so you guys don't need to worry, but I wanna keep it all just private thanks" I declared. Wait, this wasn't part of the long-distance-not-working-out-ruse. I needed to take that back or something.
