The end of the world. Hoseok had hoped it might have been aliens, with their alien technology and space travel. That would have been exhilarating. He liked to think about what life would have been like if he'd gotten the chance to meet an alien race and travel the cosmos. Maybe he'd become a galaxy-renowned space explorer/alientologist and while on one of his epic space voyages he'd fall in love with a handsome alien humanologist, and together they could travel the universe. Or maybe, he'd join a group of rogue of rogue aliens and become an outlawed space pirate (and fall in love with a rebel space warrior hellbent on seeking revenge for their family)

But the world did not end with an alien invasion. In fact, aliens probably didn't even exist, but if they did, Hoseok wished they'd come and take him away from here. Somehow things would have been easier if the only thing he had to worry about was possibly getting probed. He'd take tentacle sex over zombies any day.

Hoseok doesn't know how it happened — his best guess is that a disease or virus was leaked from a top secret lab somewhere in the world (hopefully by accident) and was now infecting people at rapid speed — but he doesn't really have the time to think about that. Not when one of his classmates is trying to tear his head off and gobble up his insides like a Thanksgiving turkey. He's too busy wedging the window shut with a stick he found lying on the ground to give a fuck; but the stick is snapping faster by the second, and will do him no good against the dangers rampaging on the outside. In his peripheral vision, he can see — students and staff alike — running away from the building in every direction possible. Hoseok should run away too, the window was shut tight for the time being, he would have enough time to get a head start before the branch would snap, freeing it's captive from its confines, but he's too transfixed on Lee's (his classmates') face. His skin had turned a sickly green colour, his dark blue veins popping out from beneath his flesh. His once brown eyes had gone almost completely white - a murky white colour, almost as if someone had mixed milk and water together. His teeth had rotted, and his gums bled profusely as he gnashed his teeth together. The skin around his teeth tore more and more and he tried to bite his way through the glass. Drool and blood dribbled from his mouth.

And then the stick snapped in two, nearly striking Hoseok in the face, and Lee's hand shot out from underneath the window. He could hear the disturbing growls and hissing coming from the inside, and Hoseok knew it was time to ditch this party. His only hope was that he was faster than Lee as he bolted in the direction of the parking lot.

He didn't have the time to think over the theory of the world's destruction or the undead over the sound of his beating heart. He raced down the sidewalk, trying to remember the last time he'd done this much running. He was going to have to seriously work on his cardio in the future. He didn't dare look over his shoulder in fear that something might be following him. The screams of his teachers and classmates faded into nothing more than background noise until he was left alone to run in silence, which was somehow more terrifying. It was as if the further away he ran, the more alone he was destined to become.

Home, he thought. I have to get home.

He pushed himself to keep going. His chest hurt and his legs burned, but if he stopped, he thought he would surely die, and this was not how he wanted to go out. Possibly devoured by another human? Not when he hadn't gotten the chance to meet his smoking hot alien boyfriend, fall in love, start a family and travel the cosmos. No. Jung Hoseok was going to survive this zombie apocalypse if it was the last thing he did, and seeing as he's nearly trampled by a car as he crossed the street, it might very well be the last thing he does. On a normal day, he would have stopped to check on the driving, and maybe apologize for running out in front of them like that. But today was not a normal day, and Hoseok needed to get home. He doesn't look back, he keeps on running, headed for the bridge.

Headed for home.
