Evinyea jolted upwards. Her bed shaking as she did. Screams outside were all she could hear. She walked out of bed and slipped her feet into a pair of black slippers. Evinyea walked to her window and carefully peered out of the window. "Oh my gosh" she muttered to herself. She saw men pulling a woman by the name, Tituba to a large courthouse. "Giles!" Evinyea called out with a worried voice. Giles Corey was also a witch just, as she was. He was significantly older than her, and she considered him her mentor. Giles and his wife, Martha took Evinyea in and she felt as if they were her parents. She heard the door open. All she could do was point outside. Giles looked just as stunned as she did. Tituba was a slave for a nearby family, the Parris Family to be exact. Lizza and Abigail lived there. Evinyea would often go over to their large home. They considered her part of their friend group, but she had no interest. Evinyea just wanted to stay at home and practice spells. However, these days she was forced to be socializing or else she would have a higher chance of being convicted. When you're convicted there is no escape from what's to come. Either, you confess and then you are punished or you don't confess and you are also punished. It is a loose loose situation. But, to her knowledge, Tituba wasn't a witch. There is no logical reason why she should have been convicted. But, then again, none of this is logical. Evinyea didn't like hanging out with Lizza and Abigail, but she wasn't evil and she knew that she should probably check in with them. They were extremely close to Tituba. Evinyea grabbed her dark brown bag and headed outside. As she opened the door a gust of wind blew into her face. Evinyea quickened her pace as she walked to the Parris home. She stood out on their porch and knocked on the door. She waited for a short moment. Evinyea  could still hear the screams of Tituba and fellow citizens of Salem. She sighed, as she patiently waited. At last, the door swung open to reveal the tear-stained face of Lizza Parris. "Oh Hi Eva" She greeted. "Why don't you come mon inside." Evinyea walked inside and followed Lizza. Lizza stopped at a closed-door from which Evinyea could hear giggles. A puzzled look stretched amongst her face. Lizza pulled out a silver key and unlocked the door. When the two arrived she burst out in laughter. "Uh what is going on?" Evinyea asked. "We told them Tituba was a witch" Lizza said though laughter. "uh, what do you mean?" She questions her. "I told my dad that Tituba cursed me," Lizza explained. Lizza and her cousin Abigail were both experiencing a sickening "curse". They would have outburst were they completely flipped, as if they were going insane. They would feel constant pain and they were yet to have an explanation. A nearby doctor diagnosed the girls with being bewitched. That started the trails. As far as she knew, they were weren't cursed. The only witches around here were herself, Giles, and Martha. Evinyea was infuriated. How could she be happy about such a horrible thing? "And guess what" Lizza whispered to Evinyea "I'm going to tell my dad that Sarah is a witch too" Evinyea's eyes widened. "What" was all she could say. Sarah Osborne was a friend of Lizza and Abigail and she often hung out with Evinyea as well. Questions floated through Evinyea's mind but saying a single one of them would give the girls a more obvious reason to convict her. "I have to go to the bathroom" Evinyea stated as she rushed out of the loud room. Her bag readily hit her hip as she rushed to a nearby restroom. She locked the door and sat on the floor. She carefully opened her bag and pulled out a compact book. The book had gold foiling down the spine and was a dark purple shade. She flipped the torn pages of the book open, she wrote a quick note to herself. Evinyea wrote to clear out her spice garden and store it in the hidden room. She was overwhelmed, these convictions were enough as it was but now, Lizza, someone she knew was indeed able to convict. She was closer then ever to being caught. "Eva!" Lizza called. Thinking will have to wait. Evinyea quickly closed her book returning it to its spot in her bag. "I'm Coming" Evinyea stuttered. When she opened the door it creaked a little, startling Evinyea. Witchcraft was something that Evinyea had practiced for most of her life. Salem portrayed witches as devilish beings and it hurt her so much. Yes, she practiced Witchcraft but she wasnt a satenist. Nobody understood the craft except her, Giles, and Martha.  When Evinyea arrived back to the group of girls, she tried to keep herself quiet. She didn't want to be here. She just wanted to go home. Evinyea felt horrible that Sarah was getting convinced. She knew that she couldnt do anything but it still made her sick.
