Where the hell are they? Sen wondered as she tapped her foot impatiently. It wasn't like the boys to be late for training. In fact, they had always been early.
Sen had felt a bit on edge since Mina had told her about Mizura's cold words. The elder Hyuga had forced Sen to promise not to say anything to Mizura, so that things wouldn't get worse. Mina assured Sen that she would figure something out. After a defeated sigh, the younger girl agreed.
With a huff, she activated her Byakugan and searched for the group. She found them taking their precious time, laughing and goofing around. Sen rolled her eyes but suppressed a laugh.
Minutes later, they broke through the treeline. Sen was standing with her arms crossed in the center of the clearing, her face firm and eyes narrowed at the ninjas. She watched as Yuudai and Karasu joked with Yama, who was trying to hide his embarrassment.
Upon noticing the sour look on Sen's face, all four of the boys gulped. With a collected but deadly smile on her face, she greeted them, "You lot are late."
Her words were met with wide eyes from each of them as they searched for an excuse that would satisfy the woman. They all stumbled around for words before Sen raised her hand and announced with a smirk, "Save your breath, kids."
"Hey, Sen," Sora called smugly from behind the group. "The boys want to see a fight between you and I. A proper fight."
Excitement flashed across Sen's face as she repeated, "A fight between you and I, huh? Was this Yama's idea so he can gauge his current power against mine?"
She sent a smirk to the Uchiha boy, who met her look with playful arrogance. He mocked, "Maybe it was, maybe it wasn't. What do you say, Sen? You think you can hang with Sora?"
A loud laugh came from Sen as she shook her head and responded, "Then let's fight, brother."
The Hyuga siblings stood apart, facing one another, in the center of the training grounds. Sora and Sen shared a long, measured look before they gave a spar sign and squared off.
Sora weaved the hand signs for a water style jutsu; however, Sen quickly sent a large gust of wind towards his attack, creating an ice wall. She activated her Byakugan and followed Sora's next move as she watched a fireball jutsu form. The burst of flames funnelled towards her.
She knew damn well her wind style alone could never defeat Sora's fire style. She thought through her options rapidly before slamming her hand on the ground and springing up a dirt shelter with her earth style. The fire ripped past as Sen slipped into the ground using the Hidden Mole Jutsu.
She tunneled through until she was underneath Sora and then sprung from the ground behind him. As she emerged, she used Gentle Fist to disrupt the chakra flow through his back with a swift kick.
"Dammit!" he cursed as he tumbled forward from the force of her kick. His body felt weak, but he refused to let his sister win again. He managed to form the signs for another water jutsu. However, he faltered for a brief moment that allowed Sen to gain the upperhand.
You lost focus, Sora. Bad move. Now you're mine, she thought with a grin. Every bit of her focus gathered as she readied herself to put Sora under a genjutsu. She activated the jutsu and watched as Sora's eyes widened in realization.
She used the manipulation technique to make it seem as if his body was melting away, along with the rest of the world. He tried to move his limbs; however, he was frozen stiff as his sister prolonged his torture. Tendrils of black mist curled around Sora's disintegrating form as he tried to move again. He knew Sen could use genjutsu, but he never knew it was this strong.
The trees began swirling sinisterly as they slipped into the misty darkness. The sky followed by after, along with the grass and the young shinobi watching him. Everything had been consumed by darkness before he knew it.
So this is her genjutsu, he thought as he struggled to continue to break free. Impressive, sister. Impressive, indeed.
After toying with him a bit more, Sen released the jutsu which caused her brother's now exhausted body to buckle.
As Sora began crumbling to the ground, Sen darted to catch him. She managed to reach him just before his knees folded, slumping him over her shoulder. She smiled and whispered, "Gotcha this time, Sora."
He rolled his eyes while a smile curled on his face. With a tired sigh, he closed his eyes and spoke, "This time, Sen."
They walked back toward the three kids, who looked amazed. Sen shot a look at Yama and asked with a wink, "You think you can take me now?"
A devilish grin popped onto his face as he replied, "My Sharingan will see through your genjutsu, Sen."
You're right, Yama. You don't even know how strong you will become, she thought with a smile. She threw her arm around the kid's shoulders and pulled him into her side while tousling his hair. He protested, to which Sen laughed and aggravated him further.
The group went on to train for the rest of the day. Sora was worked over by Yama and Yuudai, while Sen's victory over Sora gave Karasu and her the energy to train hard for the rest of the day. They trudged back towards the village as the sun sank low in the sky, bodies aching from the intense lesson.
Karasu snuck peeks up to his sensei as she walked alongside him. He remembered his thoughts upon first meeting her. She had amazed him with her fascinating white eyes, pleasant demeanor, and incredible strength. A little smile was on his face while he thought again, Sen-sama, I still want to be like you when I get older.
