This chapter is somewhat darker than my usual theme as I want to express that while people may appear happy on the outside, inside they feel trapped in a hellscape. WARNING this chapter has some darker themes like self harm and suicidal thoughts so be prepared.

Pure darkness with nothing in sight. A silence so thick that thoughts became screams. For Tsuna this was a reoccurring scene. He ran and ran into the void. Feet stomping through a blood bath. His thoughts screamed at him as if not his own, he felt pain. Pain so unbearable that he couldn't breathe. His legs collapsed and he fell through the ocean of blood.

Tsuna felt like he was drowning, being dragged down to the depths. Something wouldn't let go and in that moment the world would gain colour. The ones closest to his heart and long since past would stare at him. With the same faces that were present the moment they were murdered engraved into his memory forever.

Tsuna knew he could never forgive himself for what happened to them and this was his karma. He believed he deserved this much hell and more.

The drowning feeling vanished and was replaced with the feeling of falling to his death. He landed on his back and was unable to move. The sight was so familiar, it was where they were massacred. He watched as those he loved died one by one in gruesome ways right before his eyes. Blood blood blood littered the scene. Bones cracking and snapping. Screams and howls of pain. Tsuna was unable to do anything he tried to move, cry and scream. His thoughts darkened wishing himself to have died on that day. He wished he could just end it all and let himself feel relief. He wanted his mind to rest and wanted to stop fighting against fate. The last to have died in the massacre was a man he recognised as the closest thing to a father he would ever have.

He awoke with a start, covered in sweat and tears drenched his face. He ran to the bathroom, locked the door behind him and stared at himself in the mirror. His left hand traced over the scar on his face. He felt pain, guilt, anger and in that moment his rational thinking left him and he punched the mirror. The mirror smashed and his hand punctured by glass. He fell to the floor 'why why why why why why... am I even alive'. He picked up a piece of glass and let it touch his wrist but as blood seeped through Tsuna threw the glass against the wall. 'I can't, not yet. Not until the promises are fulfilled'. Tsuna hugged his knees and remained in silence.

Reborn woke up when he felt something was wrong. He didn't know what, and that annoyed him. There was no one trying to harm anyone in the family and everyone in the house was asleep. He searched around the house until he was just outside Tsuna's door. The door flung open and Tsuna sprinted to the bathroom. Reborn followed after Tsuna only to have a door shut in his face. It was safe to say Reborn was not impressed when two doors had been open/shut in his face. However when he heard the sound of glass shattering his priorities rearranged. 'What is going on with Dame-Tsuna, the air feels suffocating'. Reborn heard something shatter against the wall and a slight frown formed on his face. He was tempted to kick down the door but felt like a calmer alternative was necessary (reborn what is wrong with you!?). Instead he waited.
