A few weeks later, when Sammy being gone had become normal, and Aurora got her job as a receptionist, she had enough money for a small apartment.
"Why though?" Connor asked, not wanting her to leave.
Aurora smiled, "You've treated me amazing, Connor, but I can't stay here. It's your place."
"But it's yours too!" He exclaimed. "Please stay."
"I can't. You've already done so much for me." Aurora replied. "I already have a place in mind too."
"Really?" Connor asked. "When are you leaving?"
"This weekend." She announced. "So I have to get packing."
"Can I help you?"
Aurora smiled, "Please?"
...
Aurora sighed, standing in the door way of her room. "Well, that's it."
Connor got up from his knees, "I guess so." He replies solemnly.
Aurora and Connor spent their Friday hanging out. On Saturday morning they rented a UHAUL and packed her stuff in it.
"Thank you, it's been nice staying with you." Aurora thanked.
"No problem." Connor smiled. "I'll see you around?"
Aurora hesitated, just kiss him. She thought. No. He doesn't feel the same way. "We do work in the same building." She teased. "I should go. I've got a lot of work to do."
Connor watched as she twisted the door knob. "Wait." He said grabbing her wrist and spinning her around.
Aurora gave him a confused look, but before she could say anything, she felt his lips on hers.
Aurora brought her hands up to cup his face, and moved her lips with his. Her stomach was filled with butterflies.
She was disappointed when Connor pulled back, but it was probably for the best so they could breathe.
"Well..." Aurora laughed. "That was a first."
Connor grinned, putting his forhead against hers and taking both of her hand in his. "I'm glad I was your first. I hope to be the first with everything."
"Even heartbreak?" Aurora mocked.
"Not purposely." Connor replied.
"I still have to go though." Aurora sighed, disappointed.
"It's for the best. We shouldn't be around each other all the time." Connor reasoned.
"You're right." Aurora smiled. "Care to help me unpack at my new apartment?"
"Of course." Connor smiled.
...
"Well." Aurora got up from her knees, "I guess that's all."
Connor kissed her cheek, "Are you free for dinner tomorrow?"
"For you." Aurora giggled.
"I'll pick you up at six."
"Well I'll see you tomorrow then."
Connor kissed her one last time before he left.
