When I woke up in a white room that smelled like medicine, my first instinct was to panic. I would've, if I hadn't seen Mori there, quietly standing in the corner.
It all rushed back to me. Renge. The fight. Being pushed. Poles. And the last thing I remember was being impaled. I came to the conclusion that I must have fallen unconscious.
I looked down, and saw my stomach wrapped with white bandages. The silent giant seemed to notice I was awake, though his face remained blank. If I was not mistaken, he have a little bit of relief in his eyes.
"Are you okay?" He asked.
I replied with yes and a nod of my head, though it was rewarded with a sharp pain. A doctor walked into the room. She was wearing a white lab coat and green scrubs underneath. Around her neck was a stethoscope. Her black hair was pulled up into a pony tail, and she was holding a clipboard.
"Oh! You're awake! Good good. I'm Dr. Yulaw, this young man rushed in with you in his arms looking very worried. I nearly had to get security to get him out of here," she started, "But, thankfully, he left when I told him I would have to undress you to check your wound. It isn't too bad, but you won't be allowed to be very active for at least three weeks," the doctor concluded. She went on to explain that I had suffered minor head trauma, two cracked ribs, and blood loss. It was worse than I thought, but still not as bad as previous injuries.
I only nodded in response- no way was I listening to her. Exercise was part of my daily routine, it is not something I can just stop doing. While it wasn't quite like the rush of being chased by men in white coats, jumping from tree to tree and roof to roof was still exhilarating. It gave me a certain rush of adrenaline that I loved. I can't just not do my daily exercise, that would kill me.
After a small check up, she sent Mori out so she could rewrap my bandages. I took off my hospital gown, and let her unravel the bandages around my torso. It got painful after a moment, bringing me back to a similar situation when I was still in the asylum.
"This'll teach you a lesson, you brat."
He was pushing against my already broken ribs in an attempt to discourage trying to run away again. It only made me want to run away more, and a man soon came in with a syringe in hand.
"It'll all be over soon, don't worry," he said, in a shockingly sweet voice.
I started to hyperventilate, allowing myself to relive a past memory. In the background a heart monitor started to beep sporadically. There was a lot of shouting, and a few minutes seemed like seconds.
A man walked in with a syringe, and I screamed.
"Get away from me! Please, I won't do it again! Just stop!" My plees went unheard, as he inky came closer.
Suddenly, a door burst open. Morí walked in, but the others tried pushing him out. A syringe was steadily making its way to me, and I screamed and cried for it to stop.
Tears streamed down my face, and I moved myself as close to the wall as possible, creating as much distance as I could between me and the syringe.
The tool was suddenly gone, and my shaking form was wrapped in string arms. I looked up to see Mori holding, and leaned against him, soaking up his heat.
After what seemed like hours, and probably was, I had finally stopped shaking.
"I'm sorry Mori-Senpia. I didn't mean to wet your shirt or worry you."
" It's okay, but why did that happen?" He asked, innocently.
I though for a moment. He wouldn't tell anyone. He is trustworthy, and considering how long he's been holding me for, he's also patient.
I looked up, and connected my eyes to Mori's. I could see his lips part, but nothing came out, and he didn't go away. I smiled, he is the first person to have seen my red eyes and not be terrified. I had made my decision.
Nodding my head, I began to tell my story.
