His truths were told by the cartoons-
The good guys win, The bad guys lose.
But in a world of love and loss,
Of war and peace,
Of demons and fallen angels,
Can morality survive?
He dons his cape and goes out to play;
The rubble once again a city in need,
Shards of glass now people in peril.
He flies about his empire of dirt,
Saving the mementos of the dead;
A family photo makes for a smiling family saved,
A charred, crushed doll becomes a damsel in distress.
In a city of destruction, fire and lies;
Where a meal is a god-send,
Where dust fills lungs,
And desperation clouds minds,
Could a super-hero truly survive?
Knowing some can't be saved?
Knowing:
Some have to be left behind?
